I want to apologize to all Disboarders in general regarding my nasty posts to Devores. Although I love to kid and have fun on this board, I really do try to refrain from blatant arguments. I'm sorry I disturbed the peace and harmony. I deleted the posts made by "Evil Debbie".
Can we all join hands and sing Kum-bah-yah, now?

I've never been to Typhoon Lagoon, or any Disney waterpark. Might have to correct that next summer.
Going back to the challenged child taking toys. He was an older child, and depending on what his issues are he may have well known he was stealing. We have an autistic son who is turning 16 in 2 months. He was caught stealing chicken strips from a buffet in a grocery store. Apparently he'd been doing this on every visit but it had gone unnoticed because he'd say he needed to go to the bathroom & the buffet was on the way. He'd stuff his pockets with the chicken & then eat it in the hallway leading to the bathrooms. The woman working the deli said he always does it but she just didn't want to stir things up & because he's challenged it really wasn't stealing. Well that certainly isn't the way we look at things. He was stealing. He knew he was stealing. He tried to hide it. He did well at hiding it. This has nothing to do with thefts at FW, but just wanted to point out that kids steal. And if someone really wants to steal out there, just camp out there & go about your 'business' late at night (like 3 or 4 am).
I am not trying to inflame, or attack anyone or anything with this post. It is only an informational post that addresses the theft of my charger last month:
Now that the disclaimer is out of the way. My charger was stolen by a person that lives in Orlando. I know this because when we got home, I looked on EBAY and guess what? There it was, my charger, being sold by a seller in guess where ? Orlando. The Orange county sheriff's could not do anything because I didn't have my serial number written down (yes,I am an idiot). But the picture on EBAY matched my charger right down to the dent in the case and the rust spots on the case. (compared to a recent picture of my cart). Being a retired Sheriff's Deputy, I know that their hands are tied. There wasn't enough evidence for any charges. But make no mistake about it, (in my case) I am convinced my charger was stolen by a local thief, not staying at a Disney resort. I also am convinced that Disney's lack of Security at Fort Wilderness contributed to the theft. The local criminal element (NOT ALL OF THE LOCALS,JUST THE CRIMINALS) know that the Security at the Fort is a non-existent joke. And they take full advantage of it.But I also know that the crime would not have happened if I had secured my charger to my cart, as well.
I know that many of you have said that crime happens everywhere. That is true. But when I am paying up to 120 dollars a night for a concrete pad and cable tv, I expect at least "some" enhanced security and safety.

If I had some serious $$$, I would build a campground near enough to FtW that the Fort Fiends had alternatives. It would be very easy to recreate another Fort. Only mine would have a food court and a Tiki Bar! Kungaloosh for everyone!!
Not to go off topic re: "Fort Wilderness 2" or too, but just a word on the original topic, the new gate. Went to the Fort today and the new gate was on the ground on the side of the road. Ooops, it wasn't me. Went back a second time and it was fixed.
