FYI new Disney ticket promo

When DVC did it, wasn't it $199?
From what I heard/read yes. That was offered when we were in the process of our first resale contract. Also I don't recall hearing there were any block out dates for the previous DVC deal (this mirrors the gold AP blockout dates) and I think I read it had a longer expiration date (these tickets expire around memorial weekend)

Depends on when. The promo in Fall 2014 for 4 day tickets usable through about third week of May 2015 were $199, about a $95 discount from the regular price at the time (and the DVC ticket had the restriction of entry to each park only once like the new discount ticket). Under the promo during the first quarter of 2016, you could buy a five day ticket for the usual Disney price of a four day ticket (somewhere around $320 at the time) and that discount amounted to about $11. You could also buy a five day park hopper for the price of a four day and get waterparks thrown in and that resulted in about a $30 savings. That $279 price now being offered by Disney to the general public is a $65 discount from current price.

For those of you would don't follow the main theme park board-I know a lot of people have asked if Disney will offer that 4 day DVC ticket again-they have a limited time offer to the general public for $279 per adult but this time has block out dates and expires in late may.

That was not my favorite ticket promotion back when DVC did it - Restricted to one day in each park. Not a "magic your way".

Well, technically it was 4 credits.. you could use them anyway you wanted. I'm not saying that it was smart, but you could have hit all 4 parks in one day with that ticket.

A discount is better than no discount and these single park tickets were pretty popular last time. I expect most knowledgeable guests will compare the cost of a discounted ticket through companies like Undercover Tourist or Maple Leaf.

So a little bit your way. ;)

As I recall quite a few were disappointed with a ticket that was restricted to a day in each park but the price was pretty good. As with many offers it worked for some, but not for others. It also wasn't an upgradeable ticket. The most recent offer removed those restrictions and was better received I thought although priced higher.
