FYI: More Cuts Coming

so you'd prefer Norway and Maelstrom remain as it was? Because what is clear is no one save maybe Japan is going to do anything with their showcases. At least Japan makes interesting changes to their museum.

I get its changing. I get WS was positioned as a cultural exhibit. But that wasn't Walts original vision and it didn't work out.

So now what? I get Im in the minority here but what it was was stale. And what it is isn't known yet. So I've put my pitchfork down and haven't lit my torch until I see what it is. Because there is a pretty good chance what is behind those walls is more entertaining and fun than what was there. And that's why I go to theme parks.
I read Norway offered a film that was already made but Disney wanted them to spend millions to make a new one

Guest of Tony's will now be encouraged to "Come on in, and make your own pizza pie!", as guests will now be free to make their own pizza from scratch at their tables. Sounds good, huh?" :)

If instead of table-side pizza making, it was launched using the Chipotle model, then I DO see it being very popular. Several places in my area have already expanded upon the Chipotle model with great success!

Personally, it drives me nuts that the Mexican QS in Epcot won't customize my order in any way (or at least they wouldn't on my most recent visit.) I didn't ask for extras, just no sour cream.

I find it amazingly frustrating just how bad many restaurants are at handling tiny customizations. I partly understand why it happens- chefs get used to a certain procedure.

Sadly, the chef's ego also frequently gets in the way. The chef decides to put bleu cheese on every burger he makes, and guests are not allowed to dislike bleu cheese! Ugh!

Of all WDW's TS, Tony's is outdated. The only vegetables are glop covered romaine and zucchini coated with fried dough. Tony's would be 50% better if they just added a decent vegetable option, like tossing spinach into the tomato sauce as an option.

Blaze Pizza uses that model and only 4 employees are needed to efficiently run the operation even during busy lunch hours.

*Back to the greeter CM cutbacks. The CSR Greeter was working on Friday, 2/19, when we checked in; on Sunday, he was no longer in the Lobby.

On Monday and Tuesday nights, no greeters were at Beach Club. I wasn't expecting to see any on Monday when I walked through Beach Club after Epcot closed because it was close to 9:30p.

Tuesday, we arrived for an ADR at 6:30p and as we approached the entrance, CM friend remarked that it was strange that greeters were absent. She said the CMs with iPads are always out at that time. I replied with "cutbacks" and the look on her face was very sad.

We also spoke with many food and beverage CMs and with lowered voices and hushed tones, they described how bad the cutbacks are affecting their departments.

Overall, it's a very sad and distressing time for the front-line CMs.

That may be exactly why US chose Menchie's. Both the Shrek and Simpson's pre-ride areas (among others) are full of thinly veiled jabs at Disney.
I doubt that selling Dole Whips is meant to be a jab at anyone. Many, many places sell Dole Whips after all.

Cook-your-own-steak-and-seafood is up-and-coming, too!

We already do that in our villa ;)

We've gone from 2-3 TS daily to maybe 3-4 in a week. We usually just eat in the room.

Yup, my CM friend is already having his hours reduced. So glad I decided to do Universal only this trip. Well besides one day at Typhoon Lagoon.

I've been going for 30 years, and I find the parks (both coasts) to be better now than when I was a kid. I've loved them all along, but there's WAY more to do now than there used to be. I may be the lone voice of optimism, but I think the parks are actually going uphill. I can't wait for all of the new stuff, either!

That's a great attitude to have. You're right, when I started going, there was only the Magic Kingdom, and there wasn't nearly as much to do there as there is now.

Yeah the park map of Krustyland is hilarious if you look at all the attractions

Chip has the dark brown (chocolate chip) nose - Dale's isn't brown. That was the clue that was given to me by CMs.
I always thought they really should wear their Rescue Ranger outfits

Cut backs on staffing, so sad and guess parks won't be as clean :sad2:, entertainment cuts, hotel staffing cuts, so, less services and for all this we get the pleasure of price increases.
Awful they are firing the resort greeters. I've met some wonderful greeters thru the years, and some have really been the heart and soul of their resort.

Sure, they're giving us brand new shiny areas, but they're loosing what made them Disney and different from other parks. Their service.

Ugh! I heard rumors of entertainment cuts at DHS yesterday.
One of the purposes of the two shows MSEP and FANTASMIC was to try to control the crowds leaving after the parade and fireworks. It already is a mess. I can't imagine how they will efficiently move all those people leaving the parks at once.

It's pretty clear what their priority is.
