FYI - Grand Gatherings

If you are a DVC member and planning a Grand Gathering during your stay, you need to call MS to get a grand gathering "number". Make sure you don't wait until the 90 day mark to call because they will have to call or email you your GG number (and you may not get it until the next day). Then after you have the number assigned, you can call the regular GG phone number to make your plans.

I didn't know this, and we couldn't get the Magical Fireworks Voyage on the date we wanted because of the delay! Oh well, we got it for a different day, but the whole thing would have worked out if I knew that I had to call MS first to get a grand gathering number for me!

Thanks so much! I was just about to post a question about the Grand Gatherings and how DVCers could access it. Do you know how soon you can get the GG number? I'm excited about getting help planning some of our activities. We just found out we will number 19 for our next big trip.

Thanks for posting that Roo'sMom- we just ran into the same problem so hopefully this will help someone else. It's also worth mentioning that if all your grand gathering members aren't staying at DVC resorts, then you need their reservation numbers (in addition to name(s), address, and phone). We didn't have reservation numbers and that set us back an extra day until we were able to get in touch with everyone. I called member services back with all of the correct info on Wednesday about 2:30pm, and they emailed me my GG number at 10:15am on Friday.
