When we made our purchase Monday my guide informed me that there was an upcoming promo that he would apply as soon as it was available something that had to do with the Disney Visa card but he couldn't elaborate at the time because the promo wasn't available yet. Well it is officially on the Visa rewards website now. You get 500 bonus rewards points for purchasing DVC and there are no point minimums mentioned. We got with our purchase on Monday 2008 points, matching developer points, $8 off per point, and the 500 Disney Visa rewards points. Just wanted to throw this out there in case some of you who have purchased recently were not aware of the additional promotion.

I just mailed my paperwork in today for a 50 point add on. I wonder if I am still able to get the 500 reward dollars (I paid with my Disny Visa). I will have to call my guide tomorrow.

It is basically a gift card that you can use all over WDW, DL, etc.. or at Disney Stores, Disney shopping . com, and so forth. Many people here use these rewards cards to pay their annual dues, meals while onsite, and on and on. You would have to put your deposit/purchase on your Disney Visa Card and you get 6 months 0% interest on that so all around a good deal as far as I'm concerned. Once the rewards points are applied to your account you can just log in to chase and request a rewards card or have the points applied to a rewards card that you already have. HTH

I don't see why not. We purchased on Monday and my guide told me then that he would apply it as soon as it became available.

Just read the fine print, here it is. Looks like it does have to be at least 160 points.

"This 500 Disney Dream Reward Dollars bonus offer will be awarded to Disney Rewards Visa Cardmembers upon the completion of the purchase of a real estate interest in a Disney Vacation Club Resort equal to 160 or more Vacation Points (“Contract”). That's the way it always is for us. When we bought in last year we only got the dollars off per point. About 2 weeks later they started offering the $500 and developer points. I just did an add on and only got the money off per point, now they offer reward money. At least I didn't add on 160 points or I would be canceling and starting with a new contract.

Has anyone received the $500 Visa card from the Steve Harvey promotion in conjunction with the $500 disney rewards dollars? I know it is a min 160 pt buy in. I think if we could get both then DH would be on board and finally AKV would be mine all mine. OK, sorry I'll calm down now.

I was told today by DVC that the Steve Harvey promo was only for saratoga springs and not AKV. I may have to ask again to make sure before we buy. Looking to buy 200 points today or tomorrow.

I called DVC, and they told me to talk to our guide. I left him a message. I called Chase, but they said it has to go through DVC. Right. I see no reward dollars in my future.

I would be very surprised if they didn't give them to you. We bought on Monday 6/16 and we got it. My guide just called this morning to let me know he processed it. I can't imagine that for 4 days difference they wouldn't give it to you. Come on Happy thoughts!! Your getting those rewards!!!

No, we bought MAY 12. Our purchase has already closed. I will call our guide again today to follow up, but I fully expect him to say we are out of luck.

I have a resale pending ROFR. The down payment for escrow was put on my Disney card. Reading the fine print, I don't see anything that says it has to be direct through Disney. Does anyone know?
