Just booked a ressie yesterday with Dollar for 8 days end of June.

Just checked; it dropped $20:cool1:

Now I've got a compact for $200.

Didn't use any code; just clicked on the city special.

Booked the compact in lieu of the intermediate becasue it stated that:

Compact (Caliber) seats 5 pp & 2 large & 3 small bags

vs

Intermediate (Sebring) 5 pp & 1 large & 1 small bag:confused3

Seems odd to me, sure hope whatever we get will hold our stuff lol.

Q After checking in @ desk in terminal; when you stroll over to the garage; do you get to select your car ala Alamo & National or are you assigned a specific vehicle.

They assign a car for you at Dollar.

I have a Caliber /Compact reserved for the 1st week of June at their DTD hotel location for $125 for 7days. KISS2 code

we are going with the compact as we only need it to get around and do grocery runs. I just wonder what they will give if out of calibers.

We also got a great rate on a compact with Dollar for our upcoming October trip.

If you haven't already, sign up for the Dollar Express program ... It doesn't cost anything and you will have a special line for faster pickup.

I just wonder what they will give if out of calibers.

We asked a similar question in a previous thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1356883) and someone posted that they *never* had the class of car they booked, however they booked Economy and got a Compact most of the time, and a Mid-size every now and then.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what we get when we arrive.

My problem is we booked a full size when it was a Magnum ,Then they switched to the Chargers . But I still ended up with a stinking Taurus ,I really hate that car.

I just couldn't find what the older Compacts were. I really like the Calipers and have seen them at the DTD location each time I reserved there even tryied to switch out my Taurus for one but they wanted to charge me more.

You might want to try your dates using the KISS2 code...the city special was great at $202 total, but KISS2 brought it down to $162 for 8 days in June! Wahooo!

The best I can find at dollar is $192 for a compact for May 27 - June 5. Is this a good rate.
Also I read on the another post that Dollar just does not seem to have economy cars on their lot and if you book one you will get a compact. I wonder if that is worth the risk?

All the codes & corp. id's added another $20 to the ressie; will keep checking though - amusing that I now consider $200 to be a good rate.;) The fly in the ointment seems to be the extra day charge (ranging from $35 to $20+).:confused3

Since we never seem to get what car they feature on the web-sites, I too wonder what's sitting on the aisle. Think I'll start another thread lol.

I'm just worried that a compact won't hold our luggage. We got stuck with a PT cruiser once when Alamo ran out of mid-sized suvs & it would only hold 1 large bag in the trunk and had to have youngest DS sit on luggage.
