The Pixar one is fantastic -- directed by Ubb Iwerks' granddaughter, I believe. The Walt one is pretty good, but a little too worshipful, IMO, if it's the one I'm thinking of.

FWIW, they're not CNBC shows -- I think CNBC just has the rights to run them again and again and again.

Did you read the Gabler book on Walt? Not to compare a book to a film, but I thought that one was one of the better, more complete, and more balanced looks at his life -- although it sorta speeds up at the end and doesn't go into enough detail on his final years.

i meant that they show them on CNBC...not that they make em. They are great choices...either really informative or in depth analysis of how stupid greedy people tend to be...

I read the Gabler book the minute it came out. I thought it was very good, but consistent with most other things i had read and heard before about WED...

If i recall Diane Disney supposed called him and blasted his interpretation...which i don't understand because it was very level headed and didn't say anything that i would have taken so much offense too...
...especially about people that had been dead for 20-50 years.

To me, the old urban legend about Walt Disney being cryogenically frozen is the perfect metaphor for him and other so-called icons. There's this sort of personality cult that pops up around an image of what he might have been... and anything that deviates from it is to be attacked.

Other figures spring to mind. But we're not supposed to get political here. I'm sure you can think of a few.

But there I go again...

I can think of a former president who is now pushed as a deity...yet has been proven in the last few years to have been completely wrong about pretty much everything...even acting

But I'm sure that actor could remember his lines and didn't need a teleprompter...Walt must have liked him, he co-hosted the opening of Disneyland.

I have this show on DVD. It was aired about 6 years ago and then I went on ebay and found it for under 10 dollars. Good special.
