We are planning a trip & some question as to how many rooms we will need so my plan is to get 2 rooms at PO (Riverside) & bring a tent for 2 or 3 of us 'guys' to camp at FW. We've been there before & love it but the women want a room this time. My question is can you rent a bike & ride to/from PO or is it to far. Can you even leave FW with them ?? Any other suggestions ?? We are flying in & plan to use DME so we won't have a car.

The rental bikes are for FW and WL property only. If you wish to ride to PO you must have your own bike. DW and I have ridden outside of FW and the warning I will give to you is that the traffic can be heavy and fast so be carefull.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just checked rental cars & they are pretty cheap so that may be the plan. I'm thinking relying on bus service between the 2 might be a challenge.

You might look into a cabin at Fort Wilderness for the women. The cost would be about the same as two rooms at riverside and you would be able to walk over to the cabin from your tent site. The cabins sleep six and have a full kitchen. They also have mousekeeping and all the towels ect that you need, just like a hotel but better.

Of course you can use the Disney bus system to get you from FW to POR.

The cabins are GORGEOUS too!! I certainly wouldn't mind staying in one of the cabins, but there's no way I'd be in a tent :)

Cabins would be great but they are all booked ....
The bus idea would work. FW to TTC...then TTC to PO ??? Quickest way ???

:confused3

There is no longer a bus to the TTC. Your best bet to get to the rooms are the boat to Magic Kingdom then the bus to the resort,or take a bus to Downtown Disney then a bus to the resort.
