Where does the group gather for this tour? I have read it is at Mike's Bike Barn, but other places say it is the area of Mickey's BYBQ. Can someone confirm which?

Also, we are boating over from MK - what would be the best/fastest way to get to the gathering place - walk or bus?

Thanks for your response.

The fastest way from the MK is to take a boat to the Fort Marina,,when you leave the marina , head towards Crockets Tavern,,just before the Tavern go to the path to the right,,it'll take you to the BBQ,,and yes , the BBQ area is where you meet for the Segways,,NOT the bike barn.
We have done this Segway tour, ya'll are gonna love it, :thumbsup2 Have you ever done Segways before ?

We have done the Epcot tour several times, the first in 2005, then again in 2006 when we were joined by friends from Iowa. After that we tried to do Segway in every city we visited that offered tours - Tucson, Boston, San Antonio, Phoenix, San Diego - and every time we visit WDW. This will, however, be our 1st time on the XL units.

We are planning to do the Magic of Steam Train tour in MK that morning (7:30 - 10:30am) and hope to be able to catch the first MK to FW boat in time to meet the tour by 11:15am. I have been told by others that it is doable but would welcome your opinion.

Generally we have driving to FW parking then used internal buses for activities there. Still trying to talk DH into getting a lodge and actually STAYING there sometime - maybe next year.

Thanks for any assistance/opinions.

I'm gonna guess that your fastest time would be to take the boat from MK to the Fort,,that time of morn/day, there won't be much traffic try'n to leave the MK. But I gotta say,,that sounds like it's REALLY pushing the time line on the schedule.

I have done both the EPCOT and Fort Wilderness tours. However I must say they fail in compairson to a tour We took over in St Augustine. Disney could learn a lot on how to give a tour form St. Augustine Glided Tours. Not knocking Disney as I enjoyed both tours that I have taken. But for a real fun tour if your ever in the St Augustine area check them out.

2ofUs,

I've done the Steam Train Magic tour and you'll enjoy it. Ours wrapped up back at the Main Street Station about 10 a.m. and the engineer took questions for about 30 minutes, told us MK/Walt Disney train trivia, etc. So you may be able to slip away at 10 or some time later to catch your boat to the Fort. The value added by the Q/A was small but we were in no hurry so we stayed through it.

FWIW, I've not done the Segway tour but saw them set out one morning at the Backyard BBQ pavilion ready to go which is near the boat dock but you can call the Tour ressie number to confirm location.

Have fun!
