OK another question. My kids like to get up by 6:00- 6:30 am If it were up to me more like noon. What time does FW get rolling? Kids shouldn't have to use comfort station in the morning just Mom and Dad. I also don't want to
tick off our neighbors with supper excited kid. Five supper excited little kids. They are really good, but they'll be at Disney. Is there enough room between most of the sites so we can wisper without waking all around. I know there are a few very close sites, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have a larger site not quite so close to a neighbor. We start packing tomorrow!

Compared to many campgrounds...the sites at FW are pretty small. In our motorhome with the a/c or fan going sounds of kids next door wouldn't bother me. It might be different if I was tent camping though :confused3. There were a couple of mornings that we were up about 7:00 and there were a couple of people walking their dogs in the pet area, but it was pretty quiet. Actually, I don't remember noise being a problem for us at any point. We were just enjoying our trip. :)

I'm the early riser in our family and FW is always pretty quiet around 6:30 am. I don't recall any of my family being awoken by children playing or next door neighbours talking. One year someone on the loop had an electric scooter and the son would ride that around and around the loop. That was the most annoying sound ever. Thankfully they were only there for the weekend. As a Mom of three children I can excuse some noisy kids, after all it's WDW!:yay:

Around my campsite, children making noise before 9 am will be eaten.

Seriously, though, I am an early riser - have showered by 6 am every day on vacation. I walk the wonder beagle down by the canals and around the loops and have coffee by 7 am. I go for a bike ride around the fort between 7 and 7:30 am. I have yet to encounter more than a half dozen people, and all of them have been adults. It seems the kids get so burnt out at Disney that they just don't get up that early, and if they do, I doubt they will bother anyone.

The hope is they will be burned out and take the rest. If they get too excited I can let them watch a movie. Thanks.

It's Disney! Kids are supposed to be excited and have fun.

The only thing that bothers us is people who don't care..... where their kids are, how they drive the golf carts, how much noise they make drinking late at night.

Happy kids make noise, and if folks don't like it maybe they shouldn't go to FW!

Most people are so exhausted that they probably won't hear them. Like the others posted, its Disney so you're going to have exicted kids so I wouldn't worry about it:banana:

Here, here!!!

Ya know, I've been a regular camper at FtW for many years and don't ever recall being annoyed by noisy kids in the AM. A lot of people are up and about by 7:00a and your children should pose no problems!

Let them be kids & have all the fun they want!

SO TRUE!! I can rember staying in a Hotel in Disney and here kids running down the halls slaming door! :scared1: They are very excited about being at Disney. Fort Wilderness is so different. I have to say excited kids don't bother me at the Fort! Hope you have a great Trip!

Thanks. Makes me feel better. They're way too young for the keys anyway 8 and 6. I am so looking forward to this trip. We're in FW and my in-laws are going also and they are staying at CSR. I just put carpet in the pop-up today and everything has been scrubbed from top to bottom. Now it's time to start packing!:yay:

ntsammy5,
not twins, we have a singelton and a set of quadruplets too. We live in the Greensboro area. Just above High Point, furniture capital of the world. Where is Mooresville? I'll have to look it up on a map.

Mooresville is Exit 36 off I-77, just north of Charlotte. Race City USA. We fly into GSO all the time. Quads huh. I'm super-impressed

You drive right by us then. My DH works only 5 mins from the airport. Life is fun here.:grouphug:

The last three mornings there this week, we were awakened by a child on a bike with training wheels. I think the plastic training wheels were broken since it sounded like they were being dragged down the road. Of course the young'un's camper was across the street so the offender was just circling in the road in front of the camper.
Since many visitors come from other time zones like us, its hard getting use to the earlier mornings at FW. I believe quiet time is from 10pm to 8am in the park.

The last evening there, the same young'un ran across the street behind our camper and started screaming at the top of his lungs. His father was in hot pursuit but the kid screamed louder. I asked if that was known as a hissy fit or what? The father had an embarrassed look on his face and I just smiled thinking that I sure was glad mine was grown.

Well, my kids all know that if they get up early, they are to use their "indoor voice". Just bring some quiet things for them to play with. You could bring buckets and shovels and they can dig in the sand. They could bring one of those nets for catching bugs. Just remind them that the bugs will run if they are loud.

Also, as someone else mentioned, they may wind up sleeping in out of pure exhaustion. My kids are early risers, but sleep in at WDW. In our popup days, they would sleep while I went to the bathhouse. I would leave breakfast items out for them to start eating if they woke up before I got back.

I would also pack all of their clothes into ziploc bags with entire days clothes in each bag including shirt, shorts, socks and any hair bows, labeled with their name and day. Before I left for the shower, I would pull out their bags and they could dress themselves while I was out if I was gone too long. Somedays I would deliberately take long and come back to them all fed and dressed. Don't see that at home! Even if I get back soon, it still makes it easier to get them all ready if their clothes are prepacked in individual baggies. As a mom of many, I am sure you appreciate things in prepacked individual baggies. You can also fit more in the suitcase because you can push all the air out. I even pack my shirt and undies in a bag as well as dh's. Keeps it dry in the bathhouse and everything together and ready to go. I haven't done it since we moved into a big TT, but I just might this next trip. It will be our first time to FW in it. Hmmm, I will have to think about that. Hang in closet or pack in ziplocs???? Oh well, I have time to decide.

Hope my tips helped.

I'm more annoyed be late night noise well after quiet hours. I'm talking midnight or 1 am, and it wasn't just children. Ours are early risers at camp, but at Ft Wildreness, they slept until 7:30 or 8 most mornings. Guess they were worn out.

I can never remember noise being a problem at night. The last trip in 2005/06 the folks next to us put their yaking dog out during the day even when they weren't out and didn't supervise it and it was annoying. I can see if you have ****** staying either in a cabin or group camping causing an issue there might be a late night noise problem, but never seen it around the 1600 loop and that's like 90% of my experience.

Now we went to all the PSU home games for like 10 yrs (96-05) and did the RV thing (arrive Thur and lv Sun dry camping in the cow pastures :rotfl: ) ... you want to talk about noise when you are RV'ing like sardines and the big bottles of whiskey in the coffee and bloody Marys are being carried around in gallon jugs starting at 7 AM :rolleyes1 ... not to mention the music and dancing on the Class C MH roofs after a WIN to all hours at night :headache:

All sounds echo pretty good right now through FT Wilderness as it is cleared out and since the holidays there were more tent campers and the like with less solid walls, so there's always some noise here and there. Noise you are used to (your kids, your pets) might be abruptly irritating to others but in general it's no different than any other campground experience. Every morning someone is leaving, therefore making noise tearing down their campsite and loading up (even self-contained motorhomes with no dingy do this) but it's all part of the deal.

What is totally wrong and everyone should get a stop put to it is the cleaning of vehicles prior to departure or during the stay (washing vehicles, power-steaming cleaning and power-buffing waxing companies coming in and getting 200-600 bucks from the "big boys" and disturbing everyone for a long time) We were in 100 and then in 600 2 weeks ago and this happened to us. We demanded and were given 2 days refund and told these companies are not allowed to do this and the Ft. Wilderness campers allowing them in and letting them in are going to be black listed. We somehow doubt that as Ft.Wilderness likes that site money for months at a time from those big campers and motorhomes but our money for our 36' double slide 5th wheel is as good as their money in the end so if they continue to allow those actions, they do lose us and others who do not come to Fort Wilderness to hear or see that commercial cleaning waxing and nonsense.

Once again we are at the Fort this week, having arrived today, not long ago, and the amount of pets allowed in non-pet loops (no they are not OVERFLOW either) is ridiculous. You think your pet is precious, we find your pet annoying. Please don't think you are above the rules. The rules all for everyone. The same goes for the carts. Your 10 year old boy may be the size of a 40 year old man but he has no business driving the golf cart. Nor do you have any business driving it and drinking. Pets are not allowed on the carts either. It's interesting to see how many people have posted their photos on this site with pets riding on carts, drinks in hand, kids driving, and so on. Why do you believe the rules are not for you? why are you above the rules? Eventually there is a price to pay in life for that. If that was your 14 year old daughter with her giggly friend about half an hour ago by the 100 cabins that I hollered at for nearly hitting my toddler, trust me I will be tracking her and you down and making sure no one else is ever put at risk like that. She said she was 18. Then her friend said well in 4 years and they laughed like oh we're so cute. My brother in law took off on foot to follow them to see where they belong and they stopped and went in the CS at the opening of loop 200 and didn't come out for the half hour he waited so we're waiting as we know we will see you again. The part that has me angered is they know when they nearly hit him, he fell and scraped himself and was crying and everyone was troubled by it and all they could do was laugh , lie and take off. Obviously you've instilled the attitude in them that the rules are NOT for them here. or for YOU. THINK ABOUT IT

Please start an example for everyone by following all rules and making sure your children and guests and friends do the same.
