FW Campfire Question

I've read some posts discussing the FW campfire, but I can't find any detailed info about it. Is there a site that describes it? Are there any characters there? Is this something my 2 1/2 year old DS might like?

I felt that Fort Wilderness was a wonderful place because of this nightly movie/ campfire singalong they have. There is a ranger with Chip and Dale who leads a sing a long before a nightly movie. It was a wonderful introduction to the characters on your first night for small children. You also roast marshmallows and it is of course all disneyfied, very cute. Another plus here is the boat to Magic Kingdom which seemed pretty fast.

Hi- I'm sure someone here can give you a link to info about the campfire (I couldn't find one). I know there is also a list that shows all the movies that are playing.

We tried to go to the campfire in 2000 - but we never found it - FW can be a bit confusing. It was late and we had traveled all day, so I think we gave up pretty easily.

However, we did make it last November. We had a 20 month old and a 7 yr old (both girls). We still had quite a bit of trouble locating it. My 7 yr old loved it, but it was just too late for my younger one. The movie area is covered in gravel that she loved to play in, but as it got dark we were worried about people stepping on her. So, we tried to keep her in our laps, but she just wanted to explore. I think it would be a great thing to do if your child was a bit older or if you were staying at FW. By the time we finally made it back to our resort, we had spent more time traveling, than watching the movie.

I'm glad I checked it out, but I won't do it again.

Along with a visit from Chip & Dale, Sing A Long and roasting marshmellows it is followed by a Disney movie. It is held in the center of the campground near the meadow trading post.

Go to the camping board - the wdw.campers have a FW website with the movie schedule, campfire time, chuckwagon menu & prices, bus tranportation around FW, etc... - it's great!
We love the campfire!
