Future of DisneyQuest?

We just came back from Disney and while there we went to the ESPN club to watch our Saints play and we got talking to a Disney student worker who claimed that Disney Quest will be closing down and becoming an ESPN zone.
My guess is that the Disney student worker talked to someone who talked to someone who talked to someone who talked to someone who talked to someone who read Jim Hill's article last year.

Seriously, Disney cast members are not "in the loop" for unannounced business initiatives at Disney. They might be informed 30 minutes before a public announcement, unless they're directly involved with the unannounced project. And if they're really involved, they're not talking.

So...... what exactly does one do at an ESPN zone? Besides drink beer and watch sports, of course. I mean, DisneyQuest is awful BIG!

All true. BUT, Disney has closed all of the other Disney Quest sites as they did not prove to be what Disney hoped they would be. Or maybe some mucky muck just didn't like the idea. It has been said in other posts that they are not adding new stuff to the place, and in some instances not doing maintenance on some games {or whatever it is these things are}. Would Disney actually hold on to a place that never lived up to what they thought it should be? These are just my views. :confused3

ESPN zones also have a huge arcade inside them....along with that I'm betting there will be new MLB Steroid classes, NFL Dogfighting and Stripclub How to's, NBA fight the fans nights and Soccer riot nights.

HKDL, Paris Studios, AK, DCA...yes they will. No really Dinsey Quest is not long for this world as soon as they get something better to go in there they will.

So, realistically, they could keep a lot of DQ's current arcade games. At least half of the 3rd or 4th floor is all sports-themed games, not to mention all the racing games, like Daytona USA. The Virtual Jungle Cruise could be easily renamed (into "ESPN's XTREME Whitewater Challenge" or something), maybe even the bumper cars and giant pinball game could be slightly rethemed.

I also imagine a chunk of the building would be given over to a new kitchen--an ESPN Zone would dish out a lot more food than the mini-CF upstairs now. And of course, the gift shop will have to at least double in size--will probably end up taking up a whole floor by itself. I don't see a theoretical ESPN Zone having a problem filling all the available space.

When we went to the ESPN Zone in Anaheim it had a great rock-climbing wall...That would be great for the kids.

I have heard they are closing the Disney quest. Yet when I was there in early December, I was told that they might make it an ESPN zone but that would still have a large arcade keeping some of the rides that are in the quest. Also that would not mean that they would close the ESPN club at the boardwalk resort. Because the ESPN club is not easily accessible by all resort guests and an ESPN zone in downtown Disney would be a bigger draw for out side of Disney and would be easily accessible by all resorts.
