Future City???

I watched a documentary film on this on the Sundance Channel or something recently. The town is very quaint, however it is very controlled. They tell you what color your house can be, etc. Everything has to be approved.

Also, Disney is not involved in this community anymore.

Celebration, FL was not the first or only of these picturesque planned cities.

Take a look at Seaside, Florida.

Seaside was so picture-perfect (like Celebration) that the exteriors for the film The Truman Show, starring Jim Carrey, was shot there in 1998.
The idea of the film was that Truman (Carrey) was to be living his life inside a TV show/movie-set... everything was to look and "be" PERFECT.

I was going to mention Seaside. My sister has a house there and we've gone the last 5 years on vacation. I love that place too!

I think them having some control over your house selection is good. Then you can be assured that your neighbor will keep up their home and the entire neighborhood flows well.

Celebration = Pleasantville :lmao:

Mr. & Mrs. Smith, you have GOT get out of the archives, here.

:goodvibes

These old messages are hundreds and hundreds of posts back in the files.
(Just check the dates.)

Robo, I do check the dates and we are allowed to read and respond to threads that are in the archives. September 10th was really not that long ago. Obviously, people still wanted to talk about this since others, besides me, have recently responded. What's the big deal? :confused3

As I explained in my PM, I thought you might have had your settings wrong and you were (mistakenly) at the "wrong end" of the spectrum of active posts.

And, as I said in my PM, you are certainly more than welcome to bring up old posts.

And, as I said in my PM and publicly here, I was just making sure you wanted to be doing this intentionally.

Why is my post here?

I was just noticing yesterday afternoon that there were (suddenly) many, many old posts brought back to the fore by you.

As much time as I spend here on the DIS, and never having seen that before, it got me wondering if you might be having difficulty.

I posted here several times (this is one of those times) and you didn't respond.

So, it made me wonder if you might have the settings wrong on your browser, so that you could NOT SEE any of the responses.

So, I sent you a very friendly PM asking about it.

You said you weren't having trouble and that all was well.

I said OK and that was the end of that...

But now you are seeing one (or more) of my responses to your many thread-revivals.

Feel free to ignore them as they are now outdated.

That's what the deal is, and it is "no big deal."

If you would like to continue this discussion, please PM me. I don't think this has anything to do with Celebration.
