How accomodating are the counter service places for fussy orders? Pretend I am Sally in When Harry Met Sally....
"I want the pasta with sauce, but I want the sauce on the side, and I want the cake with ice cream, but can it be chocolate sauce instead of ice cream, and can I have that on the side...." If you don't love that movie like I do, the quote won't mean anything, but I digress....

My picky son will eat NOTHING with sauce, so if he and I were to split, say, an order of the Count Down Chicken Fusili, I would have to have the sauce on the side, or he wouldn't touch a bite.

So can I do special orders at counter service, or should we stick to just ordering him a kids meal he will barely eat half of?
Thanks!

I can't see that you would have an issue with the sauce on the side since they make them as you go through. Now if you want to subsitute a ingredients already mixed in now that will be an issue.

saying this as a veggy I haven't ever had them have too much issue with request to keep things off a dish when I have done CS.

You should be fine.

At the pizza port, they make the pasta dishes as you order them, so you can make special requests like the sauce on the side and even get an extra plate for sharing. I also have made special requests for burger orders (veggie, add cheese) and salads at Cafe Orleans in DL and Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA, where I ask for a different dressing than described on the menu.

Overall, I think they are pretty good at accomodating these types of requests.

I agree!

Especially with the CS you're talking about, you go through a line and they put things on a plate as you order them, so it's likely not a problem at all. Same for Plaza Inn, same for Rancho del Zocalo (man I'm now craving their kid's meal cheese/bean burrito!)...

Tomorrowland Terrace had NO problem leaving the meat off our breakfast orders, and if I recall correctly even offered more of whatever it was we were ordering to make up for it.

What other places were you think of eating? DS is sick (again) today, so he's just chilling on the couch playing with cars, lincoln logs, and ripping paper (he loves ripping paper, don't know why), and I'm especially "available". :) And helping you keeps me from booking airfare so I can go on the ladies' only trip (which would take away from the family/E's b'day trip, which I really shouldn't do)

Anyway, we could put on our thinking caps to figure out any places that wouldn't be able to help with that sort of request, if you'd like. :)

Most places will make it as it is ordered. I am a really picky eater, and they are fine with all my issues. haha!

Ok guru - you asked for it!:dance3:
Day 1
Red Rockets (probably sharing pasta or pizza with mom)
WWS (not sure - it will depend on his mood....)
Day 2
Hungry Bear (nuggets, probably)
Tortilla Joe's (he likes Tacos)
Day 3
Pizza Oom Mow Mow (probably split Mom's pasta, or get kids meatball pasta with meatball on side)
WWS (again, lots of choices - will just let him pick...)

Day 4
"away from park day" - Goofy's for bfast, off site for lunch and dinner

Day 5 - weekend day - busy at park - any suggestions?

Day 6 - last day - no real plans - maybe River Belle for lunch, or might let them pick their favorite.

It's good to know that the CS's accomodate us picky eaters - I'm one of those people who orders a cheeseburger and asks the server to hold everything - including the cheese!

For some reason, the menus at WDW always have cheeseburgers displayed but never just a plain old hamburger! :rotfl2:

Id like a Cheeseburger with No Cheese please. No Hamburger please, just a Cheeseburger with No cheese.

Hmm, just tell the CM what you want and im sure they will accomidate you. :)

My little guru-ling....ha ha.

Redd Rockett's...as mentioned, they put the pasta "together" for you when you ask for it. The salads are already put together, though they are working on future salads while you grab the salad, so it's possible they could do something special for you. The pizzas are pretty basic...cheese, veggies, some sort of meat.

Unfortunately I haven't even FOUND White Water Snacks, let alone eaten there. :headache:

Hungry Bear...they make it after you order it, so it seems they would be easy about it.

Dangit, I haven't eaten at TJs!

Here my guru-dom ends and my Warning Hat is put on. I cannot recommend pizza oom mow mow to ANYONE. Bleah. I read bad reviews before we went, but thought I knew better, and it was awful. The kid's pizza was TINY and horrid. The slice of cheese pizza was nasty, cardboard-ish, and horrid. We also had a caesar salad and a marinara pasta dish, and those were barely acceptable, but it's hard to mess up noodles with red sauce (and industrial caesars are the same as each other). BUT they do seem to make their food (except for pizza of course) as you order it, or at least the LONG wait I had for my food seemed to say that to me.

I liked Plaza for a late lunch early dinner. Had the kid's meal marinara pasta, it was quite good (along with a normal side salad). So I can recommend that. :)

If you guys like breakfast (especially Mickey pancakes) the RiverBelle is lovely for that meal, by the way.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, especially after saying I would be "here". I really must learn to not make promises. :headache:

Guru, (or should I call you Master?):worship:
Hey - I am a mom - if anyone understands "just getting busy" it's me. Besides, this stuff really isn't time sensitive - I still have a month and a half to figure it out!:thumbsup2 Think I'll have it all done by then??:confused3
Thanks for the tip on Oom Mow Mow - didn't do much other than look at the menu (ie did no board research - bad bad Carm!! - mentally swatting her own hand.... So maybe Burger Invasion then....

As for WWS, I intend to browbeat Dangermouse  till she tells me where presicely it is - as in, walk 5 paces from the door of the Jazz Kitchen, turn left, walk 10 paces, etc....(wish me luck!)
Thanks also for the Plaza rec - was wondering about that place too! Looks like good options for the kids, plus some for us too!

Carm, why don't you just take me with you, and I'll be happy to take your hand and show you the way. ;) :goodvibes

Seriously, if you need further explanation about WWS, I'll be happy to help you. I do know that they will do their best to accommodate picky eaters, so no worries there! :thumbsup2

No no no, I have already made that offer to her (offering myself, that is, not you!) on her Autopia question.

Though actually taking both of us would be much more fun!

And I'd get to find out where WWS is at long last. :goodvibes
