Fushigi Ball Anyone?

I have been seeing a lot of commercials for the Fushigi ball. My DD 12 is invited to a birthday party for a boy her age. I thought this looked like a pretty cool idea for a present. Has anyone actually purchased it? If so, would you recommend it?

I looked up reviews on it not too long ago and they weren't good. Pretty much it's just a clear ball with no seam in it and the tricks that are done are the type a magician would do. Anyone can do the same tricks with a regular ball that size with a lot of practice.

Mostly the complaints were from people who were expecting it to arrive in the time frame the company said, only for it to take much longer (ex. ETA 2 weeks, actual arrival 6 weeks or longer). Other complaints (IIRC) were getting the run-around from Customer Service.

That's what I read too - it is a silver ball suspended inside a clear ball to make the illusion.

I was wondering about these, too. I'm thinking that my 13 yo DD might like them, she loves all the magic tricks kind of stuff. I have a feeling that I will see them at the BigE next week in the Better Living Building...
