We had our former couch die. We were stuck running out and purchasing furniture quickly. We found a couch/loveseat set that was the correct shade, etc for our recently painted living room.
1. Stayed home for the delivery in mid December. Set delivered, but back of loveseat near top right corner torn when delivery guys shoved it through the front door. Notified the furniture store, they sent a repair guy. He said if he repaired it, the seam nearby would be stressed. The seams are not covered by the warranty after one year. He documented "Replacement recommended" to the manager, who told us to use it till the replacement came in.
2. 1/2: furniture store called, set up delivery for 1/3 -- dh stayed home , for delivery. He noticed, and pointed out to delivery guys, that the replacement looked "wrong." They insisted the stain-proof spray that day temporarily altered the feel of the material, but that it would soften back up. Dh disagreed, but called the store and reported it. This time, we dealt with General Manager in the morning. every manager argued on the phone that this IS the right loveseat. (It just doesn't quite match the sofa, for some reason!) They finally agree to get it replaced, and we should use this one until the new replacement arrives.
3. 1/9: they call us, arrange delivery for 1/10. I rush rush rush home to be here for the delivery time slot (2-5pm). 5:30, we call store to see if delivery guys are coming still. They call us back, and arrive 5:45. Bring in one cushion, to compare material to our sofa. It is happily a match. They bring in love seat, remove former one. They rush out and drive away as we run to check over loveseat. Find repair stitches. You guessed it, top right corner near seam. And seam is pulled to side and stressed looking. 100% positive it's the original loveseat, with the NOT-recommended repair job. We are livid. DH is calling the store, and the district manager. What else can we do? What do we try to do at this point? They are offering to replace it yet AGAIN next week.
ARGGGHH! HELP! Complaining is so difficult for me, I am always too nice. But they must think we are the STUPIDEST people on the planet. And we cannot keep staying home.
