Heh. I thought it was going to somehow show two different gas gauges... one at 3/4 of a tank "Oh, need to fill up" and one at 1/16th of a tank "I'll start looking for gas in another 20 miles".

That is very true as well. Once I hit 1/4 tank, time to fill! Dh takes it until the gas light illuminates.

My school never had a closure -- neither rain. or snow, or gloom of tests....

Same here. And heaven forbid if you tuned in after they passed listing your school.

Side note: For a couple of years, I was responsible for making sure the school closings got on TV. This was back when the anchors would actually read the closings (not just have them at the bottom of the screen). On "bad" days, reading the entire list would take 10-15 minutes, and I'd have to feed the anchor the latest closings in her ear as she was reading the ones we already had.
