I remember that one chain, I think it was Domino's, had a "30 minutes or free guarantee" for a while but had to end it because their drivers were ignoring speed limits and getting into accidents in their efforts to get the pizza delivered in under 30 minutes.
I remember that too. There was a story on the news where a delivery driver actually died when he crashed.
That's a joke? Right? They'd be SHOCKED to know they used to publish books full of everyone's name, address and phone number too, wouldn't they?!
And there used to be a thing called "giving directions". No one needs to do that anymore.
My DD's favorite is...on a scale of 1 to 10...I think I have ranked every topic known to man.
A good delivery driver doesn't use a GPS now. They know their area so well they know how to get places the fastest way possible. Before GPS was in every phone that's always where I'd stop and ask for directions, or flag one down if I saw a topper. $5 tip well spent to a guy that I knew would know the address immediately. I can still give directions to everywhere in my first delivery area and that was over 20 years ago.
