That “philosophy” explains why when I say, “No” to my kindergarten students for the first time, they look at me like I’m nuts.

Oh, yeah, teaching a kid that, "No," isn't a fact of life but a punishment works out great, a relative of ours grew her very own Veruca Salt which is every bit as much fun as it seems on Willy Wonka. 4 year olds grow up to be 14 and it ain't so cute.
