Just gave me a flashback to grandma's place in the 70's and 80's when it was risking my well being settling into a plastic covered sofa on a hot day with no AC, took 10 min to get up without injury.

Wow...I have the exact same thing in my cupboard, that my grandma knitted, only it's red and white. So weird that the pattern and texture of yarn is EXACTLY the same. It's indestructible and actually very warm and cozy. I had no idea they were a common thing.

The one that my Mom made in the 70's and used until she died in 2014, was this exact pattern but in blue, aqua and green. When she passed away, any item that more than one sibling wanted, we drew straws. Everyone wanted it and to my great disappointment, I did not draw the short straw.
