Apparently this is in our local Cracker Barrel. My son had gotten a message from a friend who said he snuck it up on the wall, took these pictures, and told him where to find it in the restaurant but not to be too obvious because he was wondering how long before management noticed it and took it down.

It’s the whole thing that’s funny to me. The giant mittens & the way he is sitting. It’s not as funny in the actual setting, but all the places that he has been superimposed are funny to me. And it’s little silly to me for a grown man to wear giant mittens instead of gloves. But, I’m not from a cold climate so maybe that’s what ppl do?

It is quite normal for Vermont. When the chill factor is -30F you do not want your fingers fending for themselves. Fingers next to each other help to keep the others warm. It may not be fashionable, but it certainly is the smart thing to do. The image just struck everyone as comical, but not in a ridicule sense. I think just about everyone needed to find something, anything, humorous to just chuckle about. Bernie proudly provided that picture that has now been immortalized.

The huge fuzzy mittens are funny because everyone else is dressed well and Bernie couldn’t be bothered with looking stylish. He just wanted to be warm and comfortable. It looks amusing in that setting, but he also looks rather charming in those cozy homemade woolly mittens.

I think it's because he looks like a kid being forced to sit through something. All bundled up, slouching in his seat, huge homemade mittens on. "you forced me to be here and I am going to sit here in my mittens but I am not going to like it. "

You might have to be from Michigan to truly appreciate this. Sandy is actually resting in the stable during Covid-19 but he/she is missed. I always liked seeing people leave pennies on the horse's base to make sure any kid could ride.
