Funniest comments you've overheard in WDW

We visited in the early 80s when my sister was about 7. She was a little spooked by a couple of things, so my dad had been stressing the fact that many of the things that bothered her weren't real -- they were fake and pretend. Anyhow, fast forward to lunch. We're having pizza (I think at the Plaza Pavillion?) and it is *terrible*. My sister put her pizza down on the plate and said in such a sad voice "Daddy, I don't think this pizza is real, either."

We were in MGM this past weekend and as we were leaving we overheard a woman tell her family that MGM was the Magic Kingdom.

A few weeks ago while walking down the street in Adventure land, there were alot of birds flying around looking for food. I overheard a a woman say "I wish Disney would do something about those birds". I'm not sure what she expected Disney to do about wild birds.

Last night while at Epcot there was a marching band that could be heard across the Lagoon. A woman said to her family "listen, they are playing carnival music"

Ugh!!...HOW can people be so badly misinformed?! There are just some things at Disney that are so basic, they should be required knowledge before you are allowed to enter the park! :earboy2:

I know. I just can't believe that number of people that come to Disney World and have no clue what it is.

I just remembered another one. We went over to the Magic Kingdom after we left MGM. We were watching the first Spectromagic parade and there was a family that come and sat near us. I kept hearing the son ask when the "firecrackers" were going to start. :rotfl:

That's funny!

Keep them coming.

As DH was driving to Universal the first day of a mixed Disney and Universal trip, i asked why he was driving towards Disney instead of Universal. He said,"What do you mean, Universal is not in Disney?" as if someone had tricked him.

We were at MGM yesterday getting popcorn at the cart in front of Beauty and the Beast theater. A guy says there is the elevator, a 35 minute wait for the elevator, do you want to go on the elevator? I just wanted to yell TOWER OF TERROR at him!

Haha, my mom has always called Test Track by the wrong name... "Fast Track." Does it every time. I also hear "Rock and Roll Rollercoaster" a lot. Oh, "Mission Mars" for Mission Space. Also, people are getting confused with the word "space" in so many rides, Space Mountain, Spaceship Earth, Mission Space. Then, people always want to know where to line up for the "Fantastic" show. I mean... there are lots of fantastic shows! :rotfl:

My grandparents do that! They call fast pass and test track by that, so you're never REALLY sure which they're talking about....Too funny!

A couple years ago when my folks and I started going to Disney annually, we were walking through Main Street in Magic Kingdom on a busyish day. The sun was shining, music chimed, weather was nice (warm but not hot) and it was an otherwise perfect day as we approached the castle.

Sure enough some kid was wailing about something ahead of us. My mom didn't think just blurted out in true League of Their Own fashion, "There's no crying in Disney World."

We still say it whenever we travel but substitute the location. Point being, if your miserable in Disney you're doing something wrong.

i was guilty of this for several months, which is embarrassing, cos i was working at epcot at the time! my head would just mix up fastpass and test track. i eventually got it right. please don't hate me. :teeth:

This wasn't at the parks but on the Wonder. We were waiting to get pictures with Mickey and Minnie. A CM was going down the line informing people that this line was just for pictures not autographs and then she said,"Enjoy your stay in line." I had to asked my DH if she had really said that! :rotfl:

The first time we took DDs to WDW, we stayed at the AS Movies. We were outside by the large letters that spell out ALL STAR MOVIES, and DH was taking pictures. DD11, who was about 7 at the time, was posing. She screams out, "wait, I want to sit in the "A" hole", at which time we all turned red and burst out laughing. DD just looked around and said "what?" (until she realized and laughed herself). Now, every time we go to WDW, we have to take a picture by the "A" hole. Ha, she will never live that down in this family!

This was our second time bringing DD2 to WDW, and we were eating bkfast at CRT. As usual, DD2 was more interested in eating then what was going on around her. Mary Poppins had just walked up to sign autographs and take pictures, but to our dismay, DD2 had one of those HUGE, loooooonnng pieces of bacon hanging out of her mouth. (We usually cut everything up for her, but she had grabbed the bacon, and was doing a great job of holding on to it). Mary Poppins said in her accent, "oooohhh how lovely", and patiently waited till I had dislodged the bacon from DD's mouth to take a picture. When Ms. Poppins finally finished with our table, she walked away, saying to DD2, "bye bye princess....take smaller bites!"

I had finally convinced DH to go to the Club Car restaraunt off property. I had purchased a gift cert from Restaurant.com, and intended to use it. I called Club Car for directions, but the hostess was very vague and said she wasn't even sure of what she was telling me. So.....we set out on our way, and are driving according to what I wrote down, but we are now driving for almost an hour. I am quite surprised, as the hostess said they are very close to WDW. I call them back on our cell phone, and go back in the direction we are told by someone else. By then, we are starving and over an hour has passed. We continue following the new directions, and find ourselves driving right back near the WDW gate! The restaurant was about 10 minutes away, opposite the way I told DH to drive. Needless to say, there was a lot of "Do'h!" going on, and apologizing (on my part).

That's all I got.
Oooooh oooh- forgot my worldly DD11 squashing the love bugs "in action" every time she could. She kept saying, "eeewwww, that's disgusting" and squashing them.

Have you kidnapped my mother? :rotfl: My mother does the exact same thing. "Let's go on Fast Track." I always have to correct her but she still gets confused. :rotfl2:

Ok, I've got a couple...

When my youngest DD was about 4, we visited MK. Both of my daughters love The Little Mermaid, so we had told them about Ariel's Grotto. Well, Grotto isn't a word that is in most 4 year old vocabularies, so we were quite embarrased when we were standing in a crowded line and my daughter blurted out "When are we going to see Ariels crotch?"

On another trip, we met friends for dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. The adults were at one table, and the kids were at another. Throughout dinner, all the characters except Goofy had stopped by the kids table. On the second trip around, the same daughter kept trying to get Chip's attention. When Chip finally came over to the table, she calls him to her and says "Hey, go get Goofy".
