Funkiest thing you have done SINCE joining DVC

For us, it was a Wishes cruise that we split with another family we met on the disboards. We never would have done that pre DVC.

We're pretty boring people. No meets or anything. Though the frequency of our trips has meant we do more non-traditional stuff:
-Illuminations Grand Gathering
-Illuminations Private Cruise (can you tell our favorite night time spectacular)
-Backstage Magic Tour (the full day one - very awesome)

Looking forward to October where my wife and I hope to have some family watch Lauren so we can do the Epcot Future World tour. And, Tom Petty is on my list.

Our upcoming plan for 3 trips in the span of 1 year to Disneyland. We are west-coasters, so much easier than a cross country trip with two little ones. But I don't think we would have done it or even thought about it pre DVC.

Easy. Took DD and 6 of her friends for her Sweet 16. Stayed in a Grand Villa at the Boardwalk

I arranged for a private scavenger hunt at MK through Gifts of a Lifetime to welcome our daughter in law to the family.

Also it was fun taking all of my adult children and their spouses for massages and facials at the SSR spa. There was 8 of us and it was great fun.

Met "Dean" on Main St. USA & became the day's Grand Marshalls in the afternoon parade!

Rode with the Monorail Pilot (twice) and got our Co-Pilot Licenses!

Took the Steam Train Tour - Cool!

Took the Illuminations Cruise - great seats!

Maybe not funky, but definitely fun! I'm treating my sister to the DVC member's cruise this year. We're going alone and splitting a Cat 5A room! Paying cash/points made it easily doable.

Took part in a umbrella-chair swap at VB. Was very cool, every one paid a small portion and used the umbrella and chairs during their stay. Unfortunately we can't do the swap on the Disboards anymore.

I've organized two DIS meets since becoming a DVC member. The first one was a meet at 50's Prime Time Cafe. We had 32 people meet us there and then we all headed to ToT for a ride and pictures. It was great! Then a bunch of us finished the night with Fantasmic. That was one of the best meals I have ever had at WDW. With a group that size the CM's really had fun playing it up with us. The second meet was even more crazy. We had 26 of us meet at noon for Drinking Around the World at WS. It took us almost 5 hours to eat and drink around the entire WS. It was totally crazy. We had people catching up with us from the boards all day long. People would join and people would depart. At the end I was surprised I could walk back to BCV. I couldn't believe that a number of people met up later at PI. Now that is funky!

Well we are about to be empty-nesters so I am hoping for some future funky trips sans children!

Oh my gosh, where the heck have you been, your trip reports are in the top 5 BEST I've ever read. Have you been back with your daughter since that Boardwalk one, and if you write another one please start it here!!!

Had a beautiful Christmas tree in my room. It was beautiful in our Kidani room.

Only been a member since Oct. 2009 and on our last stay we spent 4 nights at Kidani Village but never set a foot inside a park. Not very funky I guess but something we would never have done before DVC, especially since we live so far away.

That's what I really love about the WDW resorts, there are so many things to do even without visiting the theme parks you still won't be bored.

We have yet to take a trip since becoming members, but we are taking our parents, grandparents, siblings, and more as our guests this fall for our anniversary celebration. I know it's not "funky" but something we never would have been able to do without DVC!

Also, I just booked a friend and myself for a weekend at AKV for F&W/5K in September!
