Fundraising Ideas

Have to say, IMO you are going to face a tough road when this is not a non-profit organization.

However; a few suggestions that our Cub Scout pack has found to be VERY successful.

Our biggest success - We hosted an entertainer - ran it at the local high-school and charged people in town $3/kid & $5/adult. Our cost to bring the entertainer about $500 plus $150 to rent the hall. Along side the entertainer we offered up a snack/drink table with items costing 50c/$1 each made by parents in the pack - things like cookies, rice krispy treats and water/juice boxes (make sure to have at least 1 item w/out chocolate and 1 peanut free item). We got the school to let us advertise it in the school newspaper and we put up fliers at all the local businesses and had everyone e-mail the flier to everyone they knew. We had a great turnout. At the end of the night after our expenses we had made $1,500. :thumbsup2

Love, Love, Love the sponsored meals at a restaurant. Unos offers up a 2% of sales deal when you show a coupon, Friendlys a percentage of all sales. You just go in hand over the coupon and buy your meal. Makes a great excuse for a night out. We made $300 each night with very little effort. Just advertising via e-mail chain and word of mouth.

This one is not from cub scouts but Our local school trust. They have a great fund-raiser. A golf-ball drop. Similar to the reverse raffle. Members of the trust collected and numbered 1,000 used golf balls. Every year they now "Sell" the numbered golf balls for $10 ea. They drop the entire bushel of golf balls off the roof of a building next to which they have a red tee stuck in the ground. Ball that lands closest to the tee wins $1,000. Profit $9,000.
