Fundraiser Ideas for VFD Auxiliary?

Does anyone have any great fundraiser Ideas for a voluntary fire Dept auxiliary.....we are thinking about maybey doing a chili cookoff kind of thing but would love some ideas or things that work great in your community? We currently do bakesales and food vending at local events but we are looking for some new Ideas! Thanks for any ideas you may have.

you can try making fd t-shirts.everyone want's a fire dept t-shirt.also car wash,a fund raiser dinner.perhaps a fund raiser sport game.here in nyc we have a golf game every year.people sign up along with local stores to pay %50 cents per point that the person makes.to go to guys that we lost on sept 11,perhaps the take your picture with the fire rig.where people sit in the front seat and have there pic taken in the fire rig.good luck!

I have a couple of ideas...our fire department lets you "rent-a-rig" for a couple of hours, and I think it was for a couple of hundred dollars. I don't remember the reason why (well - yes I do, but I thought it was dumb, and the person who authorized the expense on behalf of the PTA did so without a vote! Sorry for the off-topic comments)

I don't know if this would give you large $$$'s, but have you considered doing any Brownie or Junior Girl Scout workshops, related to earning a Try-It or Badge? As a Junior leader, I am always on the lookout for badge workshops, especially for things I don't have any expertise in - such as first aid, safety etc.

My dad is a volunteer fire fighter. They do several large events a year. One is a fish fry during lent. The fire fighters cook the food and do the dishes. The fire fighter's kids bus/set up the tables (like me). The younger, elemantry school age kids (there are only 2 or 3) roll the silverware in napkins. The ladies auxilary does a bake sale/raffle and act as waitresses. The other thing that we do is a car cruise in the begininning of September. I work in the pop stand with several other people my age. We used to do community days, but they quit that.
