We just got back from a perfect anniversary vacation to DLR from Thursday 8/21-Sunday 8/24. We checked into HoJos about 8:30 p.m. and headed to DTD to have a few drinks and dinner. It was CRAZY busy at DTD and we finally found a spot at the outside Tortilla Joes bar. We had dinner and drinks. The drinks were so strong that I could only drink 1 ¼! I started on the 2nd and I started to feel a little buzzed so I had to stop. DH says Im not carrying you back to the hotel so you better stop if you are already feeling it! lol
So I left my ¾ full Mei Tei and we headed to DL. I was thinking It should be illegal to be in DL with a buzz but it was such a great way to start off our kid less trip! It was about 10:00 p.m. We walked in and rode HM (no wait) and then watched Fanstasmic. Dh had never seen it before and was quite impressed! Then we rode on POTC (no wait) and then Splash. I think we waited 10 min for Splash. Then it was almost 12 so we walked back to the hotel.
The next morning we ate breakfast at Millies (yummy) and were at the park by 9:00. We walked on almost everything. It was so nice to not have to ride Dumbo 1st thing! LOL We went to DCA and grabbed a fast pass to Screamin and then rode on some other rides. Then after Screamin we walked back to our hotel for a rest. It was about 1:00 p.m.
Then we went back to rest. At 3:15 p.m. we walked to Park Vue because we signed up for the 90 min Shell Vacation time share presentation. We got $100.00 for doing it and it was kinda funny. The guy was making fun of us for staying at places like HoJos (GASP!) O,well, thats the way we roll!
So then we got back at we had 6:30 p.m. reservations for Rainforest. We had never been so that was fun! It was expensive! It was $100.00 for the 2 of us! Yikes! Then headed to DL to go on more rides and watch the fireworks. We left right after the fireworks because DH ate so much food he felt sick! Lol
Then Sat morning we were at the park at 8:00 and rode Indiana Jones. Only waited 15 min (or longest wait the entire trip) we rode some other fun stuff and just hung out having a blast. Then we left the park to eat at Cheesecake Factory at 11:30. Holly cow thats good food! Then we went back to the hotel and had a 2 hour nap! (so nice!)
Then we walked to DCA and watched the 4:15 Aladin, rode Soran , GRR. We walked out of DCA at 6:10 because we had reservations at Blue Bayou at 6:30 p.m.
That was so nice and relaxing. We sat by the water and watched the boats go by. That was expensive too ($85.00) We forgot to use our APs for the discount! O,well!!
Then we went on POTC, HM, and Matterhorn again and walked back to the hotel by 10:00 p.m.
Sunday morning we got up and walked to the park. It was about 8:30. The only thing we didnt get to do was ride the Canoes but of course they didnt open until noon. We went on Splash and grabbed some souvenirs. We walked back to the hotel (it was about 9:40) and the maid was in our room cleaning it. Our luggage was in the car but we left our food in the fridge. She had thrown away all our leftovers in the trash! We hadnt even checked out yet! I was not happy but we checked out on the TV and left. We drove 350 miles in 4 hours and 54 min! LOL
We had such a fun and perfect trip. We spent so much $$$ on food this trip but it was worth it!
We go back with the kids for the Halloween party on 10/14-10/17. We booked DLH for Oct but HoJos beds were so nice this time so we might just go back to HoJos
