Fun toddler ideas in walking distance of Hyatt Central Brickell Miami

I went for a walk when we stayed there and I wouldn’t recommend going for a walk with kids. Broken glass and trash everywhere. Not a nice part of town. Best to just let them splash around in the hotel pool.

I can see those comments applying to the section just north of the Hyatt Regency Miami, itself just a 15 minutes walk north of the Hyatt Central Brickell, but we haven't that experience at all in the Brickell neighbourhood.

A quick Google search mentions that Brickell is one of the safest neighbourhood in Florida and that's the feeling we got walking around there. The Brickell City Center is a very nice upscale mall. We found more interesting restaurants that we could fit in our schedule.

As for things to do with a kid, they can run around in the Underline park or take a free ride on the Metromover. It's a part of the city more oriented towards adults, but you're not far by Uber/Lyft from family attractions like the Science museum, the Children museum, the Venetian pool or Treetop Trekking.

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric Brickell, not the Hyatt Regency. Just sharing our experience from early 2022. Perhaps whenever you stayed it was nicer but when we stayed it was pretty awful. I agree you could uber to area attractions but the question was about walking and I did not feel it was a very walkable area.

Better places for kids (even toddlers) for the day or afternoon would be Jungle Island (zoo/eco-park and good for little kids who like animals), Miami Children’s museum, or the Frost Museum of Science. All are very close by. Brickell is more of an office/government area and not the most conducive to little kids playing.

Brickell isn't really a walkable area. There's a great playground in front of the Intercontinental hotel and the Miami Children's Museum is wonderful, but you'll have to uber there.
