Fun, Sun, and Mickey Mouse! An August 2009 TR...new 11/19 p. 34

Hi everyone and to my newest trip report! My dad, sister, and I just returned from Disney World and I’m excited to share all of our adventures with you. (If you missed my PTR, you can check that out HERE)

First, a little bit about ourselves (and if you've followed along on my previous PTRs/TRs, bear with me for a little bit):
We are Disney veterans (this was my 15th trip to WDW!) and Disney Vacation Club members, our home resort being Saratoga Springs. We’ve been lucky enough to visit Disney World during all different seasons and have stayed at several different resorts. And yet with all these trips we still haven’t seen and done it all.

Even though we’ve been to Disney so many times, this was our first trip over the summer. After all, we are Wisconsinites and are not used to the heat/humidity of Florida summers. Oh yes, and then there’s also that thing called hurricane season…but we were willing to give it a shot! As DVC members, we also enjoy staying at all the various resorts. Last December we ate at the Whispering Canyon Café and were able to explore the Wilderness Lodge a little bit. My sister and I LOVED it and knew that we had to stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas on our next trip. We were pretty excited when Dad was able to book a room there from August 20-25.

So...did we survive the Florida heat? Did it really rain that much? How many times did we see the American Idol Experience? And what is my newest Disney souvenir addiction??? Guess you’ll just have to keep reading to find out.

Oh, cliff hangers or questions.
Newest souvie addiction-I'm going to go with collecting charms for a charm bracelet. This seem to be very popular on the cruise. Going to the same store, but in a different port and getting their charm.

You survived the heat-I'm betting you were a good Disser and took afternoon siesta's.

Rain only last a few minutes, and I'm sure you wore poncho's.
Little bit of rain don't stop ya.

Can't comment on American Idol---Never watch the show.

You don't watch American Idol?! Neither does my mom actually...she gets annoyed whenever they play an AI song on the radio. And Dad made a comment about he thinks it's sad that he knows all the AI winners in the order they won. haha!
