Hey guys!

Sorry I didn't get an update posted yesterday but it was a CRAZY day with work and then the American Idols show! It was such a blast...and I got my picture with Danny Gokey! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: hehe Since it was his hometown show there was kind of a mob scene before the show started. Craziness.

Anyways, I have my next update ready to go and I promise I'll get it up today. Thanks for reading!

Just in case you’ve never read one of my trip reports before, let me introduce myself and my family (well, atleast part of it).

Me (Sarah): 24-year old Marquette grad…majored in Elementary Education and English. Was 5 years old when I first went to Disney World. I’m not quite sure when I got bit by the Disney bug but whether it’s the theme parks or movies, the classics or more recent stuff, I love it all. It just makes me happy!

My sister (Emma): 19-year old, soon-to-be Marquette sophomore. Majoring in business. Is considering doing the Walt Disney World College Program. Loves all the thrill rides…in fact the first time she rode Thunder Mountain she came off crying because she wanted to ride it again!

Here we are outside the American Idol Experience last December (and trying to do our best Idol pose. haha)

And with our hometown Idol, DANNY GOKEY!!!

My dad (John): Loves golf, University of Michigan football, and of course Disney. He’s played on all of the Disney golf courses and has been to the tournament they have there. Also a big fan of Tigger.

My mom and other sister didn’t come along with us on this trip. They kind of thought we were nuts for going to Disney World in August. They have their own trip planned for January after my sister graduates.

I think that’s enough background…let’s get this report started!!

*I want to apologize for the lack of photos in this update. I don't take pictures at the airport...the last time I did that our flight got cancelled. But between me and my sister we got PLENTY of pictures. Trust me, they're coming!*

August 20, 2009

After months of waiting and of course reading the DIS, the day had finally arrived…we were going to Disney World!!! I tried to go to bed early the night before knowing we’d be getting up early but that didn’t work too well. Remember that old Disney commercial where the parents find the two kids in the bedroom and they say they’re too excited to sleep? Yeah, that’s kind of like me. I may be 24 but yes, I still get excited about going to Disney World.

Anyways, our flight was scheduled to leave Milwaukee at 7:30 so we were up shortly after 4:00. The one good thing about having early flights is that you get there early enough to visit one of the parks right away! We left the house around 5:15 and were on our way to Mitchell International Airport. Once we arrived we said good-bye to Mom and went to go check in. Fortunately for us, we live pretty close to the airport so the total time it took us to get from our house to the gate, including going through security, was just under an hour. Not bad.

Since we still had over an hour to wait, I went and got a blueberry muffin and orange juice from Alterra to hold me over until we arrived in Orlando. Emma tested out the Wi-Fi at the gate so she could update her Twitter/facebook but sadly you had to pay to use the internet service. So no Twittering for the time being. While we were waiting to board the plane we noticed it was raining outside…would that be a sign of things to come???

Around 7:00 or so we started boarding and we were ready to go. The plane took off right on time. We were on our way! I tried to get some rest but I have a hard time sleeping on planes and again I was still pretty excited we’d be in Disney in just over a few short hours. Other than a little bit of turbulence the flight was pretty uneventful and we touched down in Orlando shortly after 11:00 to lots of sunshine.

By the time we got to Orlando International we had already been up for several hours so we stopped to pick up something to eat. I’m not going to lie, Emma and I were pretty excited about getting lunch at Chik-Fil-A. Soo good! Then it was off to the Magical Express!!!

Chik-Fil-A ? I remember seeing that on our way home and chuckling at the name. Yep, my TR is freshly up and running. I'm comparing our experiences! :cool1:

I think waiting for the Magical Express is one of the best parts of vacation because you are finally at DISNEY!! PS You better share your Idol pictures girl! How did you end up meeting Danny?

Hey Sarah!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip. I wish I could've gotten to meet you at DHS. :sad1: I kept looking around VWL/WL for you. I gotta say, that place is GORGEOUS!!!

Looking forward to hear more! :goodvibes

Hi Sarah,
Can't wait to read about all your adventures on this summer trip. I hope you loved staying at the VWL, I just love the lobby of that resort.
Little chilly in Milwaukee today, huh? I'll need to bundle up to go to the Brewers game tonight and tomorrow. Feels more like late September.:confused3

Sounds like the trip got off to a promising start! I'll have to remember Chik-fil-a when we go, I've never eaten there.

Very cool meeting Danny Gokey!

Chick-Fil-A Rocks!!!

I thought they were a big chain...they have them in the 2 other states I've lived in - TX and VA. I would be so bummed if they weren't here in FL too.

Had no idea that they weren't in Wisconsin or Canada. Oh you poor people :sad2:

Sounds like your trip is off to a great start! Can't wait to hear more.

LOL, yes, we love Chik-Fil-A. We only get it once in a blue moon. :teeth:

It is, it's so much fun waiting for the bus to pull up. Plus the drivers are usually pretty cool.

Yeah, I'll definitely share my Idol pictures! I only got to meet Danny (my sisters ended up meeting about half of them) but if you want I can PM you some of the pics from the concert. We were actually pretty lucky we got pics with Danny...when I met my sisters they said it wasn't looking good so we went to dinner. When we got out there was a huge crowd waiting and Danny came out! It was so cool, especially since it was only an hour before the show started!

Hey Kirsten! I know, I really wish we could've met up, I felt so bad about that. :guilty: The WL was so awesome. Don't you wish you were still there?! :sad2: Can't wait to read your TR. popcorn::

Hey! We definitely enjoyed our stay at the VWL. The only problem was that it was too short. haha

I can't believe how chilly it's been the past couple of days. I'm starting to get depressed with it getting dark earlier and getting cooler. Have fun at the Brewer games...GO CREW. I think we're going next weekend. I kind of miss last season. That was awesome. :goodvibes

Chik-Fil-A is pretty good, you should go there. :thumbsup2

Yeah, my sisters were so excited they got to meet Danny/get pics/get his autograph. They were literally shaking.

haha, we used to have a Chik-Fil-A at one of the malls around here but that closed several years ago. We were in NC a couple years ago for the NCAA basketball tournament and found one at a mall. We were pretty excited then too since we hadn't had it in so long.

Hey girl! I haven't been on the DIS in a couple of days and just saw you started you TR! Woo hoo! You know I'm in :thumbsup2

My 22 year old daughter absolutely loves Chick-Fil-A. We have them here in Lousiana and there are some in Georgia where she goes to Missionary College. Recently, Chick-Fil-A had some kind of promo where you could get any combo meal free if you dressed up like a cow. She and all of the Mission students drew spots on their faces, made cardboard ears and tails and went to the local Chick-Fil-A. They took pictures and it was hilarious!

It looks like you guys are off to a great start. Can't wait to see pictures of Wilderness Lodge Villas.

Chik-Fil-A
I saw that resturant when we were trying to find something open.
I associated it with Chicken and so did everyone else. We never even went to look at the menu.:rotfl: So what do they really have on the menu?

Did you fly AirTran?

And, what is with this weather, I noticed how dark it is getting too at nite. When it is nice and warm out, for some reason you don't notice the darkness, but with it being cold out, we don't stay outside as late. I hate fall/winter, I am actually really dreading it.
