I thought I would share a fun story that happened on Castaway Cay. I thought some on this board might enjoy it.
After our third Disney Cruise, we had convinced friends of ours that they should give the cruise a try. They booked a cruise and it happened that we would be cruising again two weeks after they got back from their cruise. When they got back from their cruise they told us to keep an eye out for a special post card they sent from Castaway Cay. It didn't show up before our cruise, but when we got back it was waiting for us. It was a treasure hunt with clues to find a treasure they buried on CC. It started with "start at the place you would go for ultimate relaxation" which was the massage cabanas. Then it continued with things like "walk towards the three palm trees" etc. etc. etc. We were disapointed we didn't get it in time for our cruise, but we told them we were cruising again in 6 months and we would try to find the treasure then. They told us not to bother, because they didn't bury it very well, and by then someone else would have found it.
Six months later we are on Castaway Cay and decided to hunt for the treasure. We had brought their postcard and followed the clues which took us all around the adult side of the island. When we got to the last clue, we were standing in front of a tree with a large root system. The clue told us to look in the roots, and there we found the treasure hidden in a hole under one of the roots. We were so surprised and excited that it was stil there. The "treasure" was a postcard in a plastic bottle with a note on it congratulating us for finding the treasure and instructing us to fill in their address on the card and mail to them it so they would know we had found the treasure (this way, if anyone else found it they wouldn't be able to address it to our friends). We hadn't mentioned the trip or treasure hunt to them for awhile, so they were VERY surprised when they received the post card they buried SO long ago on a small island in the Bahamas.
