Mine is the same that I went on at 6 years old...The Haunted Mansion.
Took DD5 on it with this trip and she loved it too!

I've always loved 'scary things' (although it's not scary) and just found there was so much to look at. I even loved the queue looking at all the tombstones and the music. The stretching room wasn't much but then when you go in the doombugy, and it goes through all the rooms...super cool little things from the 13hr backwards clock to the footsteps walking backwards on the wrong side of the stairs to the graveyard with ghosts popping up and singing. Coolest part were the special effects...the floating head and the ballroom with ghosts eating and dancing. Love love love this ride!

How about others?

Neat topic and great post to start it off!

Mine is probably still Splash Mtn, although I haven't been on it since 2012 (Feb refurbs :( ). I have loved "log flume" rides since I was 5, and I am old enough to have seen Song of the South, so I know the characters/stories/songs. Put them together and :cloud9: Sing it with me: Ev'rybody's got a laughin' place... I'm pretty wimpy about coasters, but I love that drop into the Briar Patch. It's a ride that just makes me happy and leaves me with a song (or songs!) in my head. Missing Splash is one reason I decided to take a chance on April next year (and now, of course, it looks like the 2015 refurb will be confined to January).

OP, I first went on HM at Disneyland when I was about 9 - oddly, I loved the Stretching Room with the expanding paintings. And there's another great head-sticking Disney song.

Haunted Mansion!!!!

But I love all of the Disney dark rides...The Great Movie Ride...Spaceship Earth...that's what makes Disney special to me!pixiedust:

Peoplemover! It's relaxing, it's a decent length time wise, and I like the way it winds in and out of the various buildings in Tomorrowland. It's also great for people watching. My favorite ride of all time was Horizons though. I thought it got the whole theme of Epcot right into that one ride.

My first choice winds up on a lot of people's "most overrated" lists, but I have to go with Peter Pan. The music just brings up this overwhelming feeling of classic Disney and the look of wonder on my kids' faces as they "fly" through the story is pure magic. Love.

My other fav is not a ride - Philharmagic. Can't see this too many times.

Another HM fan!:hmghost: For me it's the most comprehensively themed attraction at WDW (though TOT is a close second). From the building exterior, the graveyard, and everything about the ride--especially the music, is perfection. Because of the lighting, there's always something I've never noticed before. :earsboy:

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! I always loved roller coasters but as I've gotten older, I don't handle them as well. BTMM is one I can ride with no problem and still get the "thrill!"

I love many rides at WDW but the one that I could ride over and over is ToT. I love the theme of it, the free fall, and the fact that it's a little bit different every time. A lot of the thrill rides make me scream or "wooooo!" but for some reason ToT makes me crack up. I wish that I got a few more drops (about 15 seconds would satisfy) out of my waits in line, but it's still my favorite.

Haunted Mansion on both coasts. Perfection from the queue to the exit. The detail and the music are stunning!

Peter Pan. I could ride it the entire day. It's on schedule to be my first ride of our trip, and the last one before heading to the airport. Peter Pan has always held very special memories for me, and it was pretty important to my sister as well.... as you can see by my referring to my angel on the second star to the right. ;) I love flying over the little buildings and thinking of the movie, and I can't wait to be flying there in a few more months. :)

Another vote for Haunted Mansion. I just love everything about it. At some point during each trip, I have to break away from my group and ride 10 (or more) times in a row.

Peter Pan's Flight- purely sentimental reasons. It was the first ride my daughters and I rode on our first trip in 1987. It's always been the first thing we ride when we go to the MK and I recently got to introduce it to my grandson for his first ride at the MK.

If I had to go and ride 1 ride, this would be it. :)

Thanks for the great responses. My DS"s favorite is Splash Mountain...went on it 3 times with DH. I didn't try that one so can't comment (am chicken for getting wet on the big hill)

Btw...The stretching room in Disneyland sounds a bit neater as apparently you're in an elevator that's descending

This is #2 on my list. Also rode it 3 times. I love how it's more turns than big drops. It's super fun plus the detailed and scenery is really impressive.

I have to vote for the Haunted Mansion, too. I remember the first time I rode it and it gets to the part where you descend into the graveyard and the car spins around and you go down the hill backward - and it looks like the car in front of you is going to hit yours when you get to the bottom. That, plus the hitch hiking ghosts!

So hard to choose just one. For nostalgia I choose Peter Pan. I remember riding it multiple times with my Mom back in the 80s while my Dad and brother were off doing the mountains. Being able to go on it with her and my son together this year was one of the best moments of my adult life.

From a purely ride quality aspect, Tower of Terror is my 2nd favorite ride in the world (My favorite still remains at the place down the road) I'm a Twilight Zone, marathon watching, freak. The whole theme is amazing. The intricate details that went into the queue are mind blowing. I only rode it for the first time this past trip, but did so 5x and noticed cool different things each time. Then the actual ride itself, is pure heart thumping exhilaration.

I don't know why but it's the "Tower of Terror". In my opinion one of the best themed attractions. Just before you drop it's pitch black. You know you're ready to drop as the warm air in the shaft touches your face. At that moment I wonder "What the heck am I doing here!" Then you drop and drop again and again and again. Each time I hope it will stop. Finial the door open, I realize I have the biggest grin on my face. It's over. Next thing I know I'm back in line to do it again.

Actually I'm not sure what you mean. I've posted asking about everyone's favourite ride and well in the 'Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies' section. Isn't that the correct place?

Tower of Terror looked really cool from the video, but that's more the story and setting. Don't think my sensitive stomach would handle it. But for those that can, I can see it being really cool!

I'm happily surprised how many others also love Haunted Mansion. I've always loved horror movies and such and so think this attraction is really cool..and just love all the effects.

Kilimanjaro Safari has to be our favorite. We love seeing the animals and no two trips are ever the same.

Everest! It's the one ride that REALLY sticks out to me. It was incredible!! Fun, fast, and exhilarating!! Plus the que was very very cool and well thought out. It's one that I want to ride over and over!
