We are known as where the West begins.
There's a cattle drive through our Stockyards twice a day.
One of our art museums owns the first known painting by Michaelangelo. It's also the first painting by Michaelangelo to be housed in an American collection.
One of our local landmarks is a giant fiberglass sculpture of a jackalope.
The city has one of the largest herbarias (collection of preserved plant specimens) in the US.
The largest university in our city went to the college football playoffs in January.

Me too! I lived in Bristol my entire life up until last year when I moved to Florida.
Bristol also has the oldest amusement park in the United States.

I am living in Reston Virginia, other than being one of the first planned communities in the US, Reston was the location of America’s first Ebola outbreak in 1989. The book “The Hot Zone”, and subsequent movie “Outbreak” were based on this incident. To this day there are only 5 strains of Ebola, 4 are deadly and the 5th strain is the Reston Strain, thankfully not dangerous to humans, but named after my current home town.
