Fun card vs 2 day pass. Same price? What am i missing?

on undercover tourists site they sell a 2day pass that is roughly the same price as a sea world fun card which says gives you admission for the rest of 2016. I feel like i am missing something. Seems too good to be true. Is the fun pass really like park admission on daily tickets or is there a catch? Can i purchase online now for a trip in june?

The Fun Pass offers unlimited admission for the calendar year, expiring on December 31st, 2016.

Annual Passes are good for 365 days from the date of activation, and also provide other benefits like free parking, discounts on shopping and dining, etc.

You could purchase your Fun Pass online anytime prior to your June trip. It will expire on December 31st this year no matter when you use it for the first time.

Does anyone know when they start selling the 2017 Fun Pass online? Would it be in December ?
