In November we had a cruise themed BD party. I made really fun invitations that invited them on an overnight cruise. Embarkation at 5:00 PM etc.
While the girls were arriving we did the sail away party. I loaded some fun tropical music and some of the things that are played on the
DCL sail away party. Then we had dinner. I did a sandwich buffet (turkey, ham, buns, chips, veggie tray). Then they went to the "bowling alley" on deck 1 (Wii bowling in the basement TV room). Then they all went to the movie (also on deck 1 LOL!).
I then served a midnight dessert buffet (at 9:00). I did several different desserts cut into snack sized portions.
Two things that I didn't do because I just was out of time (it was the Friday before Thanksgiving and we were leaving town the next day...WHAT was I thinking). Anyway, we were going to do the fluffy flip flops and I was going to take a picture of each girl with our daughter as they "boarded" the ship. Then we were going to do a really inexpensive (25 cents plus the picture) craft. Cover two cardboard drink coasters from a restaurant with tropical scrapbooking paper. Punch two holes on one side of each coaster (at the top and at the bottom). Tie the two coasters together by threading ribbon through the holes and tying a bow. Then mount the photo on one side on a coordinating color of cardstock. Mount a cute saying on the other side.
The next morning we had a breakfast buffet with different kinds of bagels (cut in 1/2 and then 1/2 again), 2 kinds of flavored cream cheese, fresh fruit, oj, and cinnamon rolls from IKEA that were cut in 1/2. The rolls are delish and very inexpensive.
Overall it was a super fun evening!
