Full House on 5/11 Western

Seems to be a full house on Western Inaugural. Only category 8,9,10 left and not offering STM anymore.

This is a first time cruise for us, anyone ever sail on a full ship before? Didn't think it would be full since kids r still in school. I guess alot of people are doing as I am and pulling them for a week to get STM fare.

Oh well will have to make the best of it.

Believe it our not, our Jan 5th cruise in the "off season" was completely full. We thought we'd try to upgrade to a verandah but they said they were totally booked in all categories! My heart sank when I heard that.

You would never know that the boat is fully booked. It is designed to take the capacity number of people very very very comfortably. It's not like when WDW is at capacity and you can't move. We never had any problem getting lounge chairs or had a problem getting seats for any of the shows etc. The only time we had to wait in line was to leave the boat and we weren't so eager to do that anyway. Really, a full boat will not compromise your vacation in any way whatsoever.

We have sailed both ways (full ship and virtually desserted ship), and personally I prefer the crowd. It was creepy to be on a voyage with the diningroom half empty, no crowd at the shows, etc. I like having the energy of being surrounded by a crowd of people. The ships are built to handle a capacity crowd, so you will not feel like WDW in summer! Just get to the theaters and beaches a little early to ensure your choice of seat and arrive at the port early enough to get a good spot in line for Palo and spa ressies. Other than that, you will be fine. The ship was full for our trip last weekend, and it was great. I stayed on the family beach this time, and even at 11 a.m., I got a good spot under an umbrella simply by walked 2/3 of the way down the beach. There were no lines at Cookies, and we got to other activities early enough so that we were never inconvenienced. It was a great experience, as always.

Went last year same week on full ship (Magic) not a real problem. Never felt crowded except at childrens pool on days at sea. It was said their were over 900 children on board. Kids clubs were crowded, so our children 5 and 7 spent a lot of time with mom and dad.

Having sailed on empty ships (Premiers Majestic in Nov 1992 with only 185 passengers) the excitement and energy level of both crew and guests is much higher on a full ship.

We are taking our kids out of school as well. They'll be put on independant study for 2 weeks, since it 2 weeks after Spring break. Didnt plan it, just happens to be when we were able to sail. The kids arent very dissapointed though....go figure. lol
