fuel prices

We are new to camping and have taken only 2 trips in our MH. I do not believe that we would get rid of or lessen the amount of trips due to gas prices. If we were to get rid of any vehicle it would be the conversion van (11MPG highway)
Since the MH would only be used for trips and not everyday driving it should not effect us too much but, that conversion van is gonna have to go I think!!! Our other car is a Cavalier min of 20mpg so we use that more then anything! I think what is realy gonna hurt us is the cost of fuel oil!! At 2.83gal here  :scared1: !! You can only cut the heat back so much!!

I wish it was $2.83 here. Our is running $3.16 a gallon and diesel is $3.49. YIKES!

Anyone know what the gas prices are running up and down I95 from Virginia to Florida?

There's a news item on CNN that reports gas has hit $5.00 a gallon in parts of California. It's $3.20 here.

The lowest price in the New Orleans area is $2.89, of coarse that was YESTERDAY...could be another .20 today!!

Has anyone filled up at the WDW Hess station(s) and can you tell me what the cost of diesel is. Larry

Today (11/8/07) diesel at WDW Hess is $3.22* - $.16 cheaper than the Love's Truck Stop 25 miles away - go figure. FtWGuy is right about the Hess station at Disney having the best gas prices in the area. We go over to WDW at least once a week & always top the tank at the Hess.

* Disclaimer - price subject to change by the minute!

Thanks,

That's a fairly good price and will consider topping off there and maybe filling the jugs I carry for the trip back if the FJ prices are comparable. We've only had the diesel Van there once and didn't need to consider fueling up.

It just went to $3.69 at the stations a block awya from work. Go figure that its cheaper at the happiest place and more here where its dark and snowy.

Were coming to FW in December and we figure it's going to be around $1000.00 for round trip from MI. We have a dually F350 and pull a Fifth wheel. We're thinking about getting an auxilary tank so we can fill it up when we see cheaper diesel does anyone else have one of those and do you like them. The one I saw you have to transfer the fuel into your tanks but we thought it would be ok. Also thinking about getting an air intake system from K & N suppose to increase power and fuel has anyone put one of those on their truck just curious. We have been going to the fort for about 13 years now and still plan on coming down. It's our big trip of the year.

We just took a trip to the Fort in our '04 F150 and TT, I budgeted $800 for fuel, but it was closer to $900. When we got home I checked the cost of cabins and the difference in cost was almost $2000, not including fuel, just cabins VS. preferred site. We would be interested in possibly renting a trailer next year from someone who lives in Fla, instead of the cost, and the long haul. We live just this side of the Windsor/Detroit border, not too far from Big Disney Daddy. Have a great trip next month, just save your pennies. It'll be so worth it to be away from the snow!

Nice to get a shout out from my metric neighbors. :thumbsup2

I filled my truck today, just a hair under a 1/2 tank and it cost me $51, thats at $3.69 gal and I expect it to go up.

I was just watching MSNBC and they said gas is supposed to go up by .20 a gallon over the next few weeks. I guess I will be budgeting more for gas also.

Ours had been going up then it stopped for a bit now it is back on the rise.

Regular is $2.99
Diesel is $3.35

We're not cutting back. I'm estimating that fuel for our round trip to Fort Wilderness later this week will be around $1000. It's cheaper than airfare for 7, and we'll sleep in our own beds and have our stuff with us.

Our RV travels are pretty much over for this season so we'll wait and see what March brings. For our trip to FW last August I budgeted $1000 for gas based on 2006's trip where it cost about $875 (average price $2.55). This year I decided to keep the speed down, utilize cruise control and overdrive whenever possible and got better milage overall. This year prices were better which helped. Using only the Flying J's (Carmel Church, VA, Latta, SC and Brunswick, GA) on I95 (the prices ranged from $2.40 to $2.45) and the WDW Hess ($2.64) this years gas cost was around $750. Nice. Since WDW is our big trip every year I'll just start saving gas money now.

$4.00 a us gallon up here. Just over a buck a liter here now. I must say we looked forward before to the cheaper gas down south. Now with the canadain dollar being in a positive ,gas south of the border is even cheaper. As for the question. Hell no we are looking to go on more camping trips. Actually were moving from a Astro van V-6 to A gas guzzling V-8 next year so we can tow farther south, east, west, or north. Gas for camping is of no concern as it is still cheaper to go camping than flying somewhere. I just make sure we have our debit card with us. HMMMM then why am I getting ready to fly to mexico in a month. hehehehe. OH yeah because it's 30 degs there and we got the trip real cheap lol.

Very smart DznyRulz. All those Yanks heading down, do not get fuel in my home state. We tax it rediculously.

Fuel up before you leave VA. and try to make it to SC. Far cheaper.

2.95 reg in south Ga.......Not a great deal...I bet my camper:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: it will go up this weekend before Thanksgiving!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 And last year they said it was the hurricanes......:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: What's next .....Oh election year........Dont get me started.
