Fudge! I just got back from the dentist.

All most every tooth is a cavity and needs work done.
I need AT LEAST 1 root canal.
After my teeth are cleaned and the decay is stopped, I need braces.

Geeze, I knew my teeth had gone downhill, they're really gross. But I didn't think I would need a root canal, I thought that was something only old people got. (I know the irony in that sentence) Good news is I don't need my wisdom teeth removed, IDK if I even have them.
Mommy, I'm scared.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is indeed one of the lovely side effects of chemo.

Someone make me feel better, PLEASE tell me you've had a root canal or something more serious done on your mouth.

(BTW, the hygenist said this would be a walk in the park compared to what I just went thru, but I don't really think so.)

Well, I've had braces for a year now and about a month ago I got part of my gums removed so they could pull my last two grown up teeth up from my gums. ( my teeth came in really slow) it wasnt horrible but it was pretty unpleasant

cavities arent so bad, they only take a day or two be feel completely normal again

I dont ever seem to get cavaties, even though I eat sugary stuff and dont brush twice a day sometimes :O

I've had braces...and four permanent teeth removed.
Trust me you'll be fine.
If you're really worried ask if you can get the laughing gas, it relaxes you a lot.

the root canal proboly will be very unpleasent...

Right now i've had a total of 19 teeth removed surgacly from my mouth 4 of those were permanate and had braces for a year (another to go)

And the hygenist is proboly right...It won't be nearly as bad as what you went threw!

Your mouth will generaly be sore for a few days or a few weeks but just stick to soft liquidy stuff. And ice cream or sorbet will be your best friend.

Wait until you visit your orthodontist.
I was told need braces today, but my tests arent until august then they need 5 weeks after THAT!

It takes forever to get them on D:

It wasn't bad, I mean the freezing felt kinda funny.

I had a root canal when I was like 5.
I don't remember anything about it.
It was because I fell and like effed up my teeth.
I need to start taking better care of my teeth. I have braces and I don't want to have stains on my teeth and then have strange squares there.

They didn't have to tell me, I already knew. In the past, I had a problem with my two front teeth, one tooth was being pushed back so it was diagnal, not straight. Orthodontist gave me a retainer but said if it happened again I needed braces.
And the fact that my bottom front teeth are all crooked and pushed back, again in a diagnal position. It's really a mess.

Thank everyone. I've had cavaties filled before, so I'm not worried about that.
And I'll definitely ask for the laughing gas, I've been thru enough pain. I told the dentist, "You BETTER make me completely numb!".

I'd love to, but I can't! I was blessed with my dad's perfect teeth. Aside from minor, minor cavities that didn't even require novicaine, I've never had tooth problems. My mouth is even big enough to hold my wisdom teeth when they come in, so I don't even need to have them taken out.

Will a hug suffice?

I had something done. In the second grade, part of a tooth fell out. So they like put a metal tooth over it. It was glues to my broken tooth. It was there for year until finally that tooth fell out and now I have a permanent one!

It was like two years ago when it fell out.

i haven't really had anything serious done but i've had to get 2 teeth removed but when i recently went to the dentist because i was having Severe tooth pain ( turned out to be a huge cavity that i have to get removed) i think i also have to get to get my Wisdom teeth removed but i'm not sure. but it will cost my family a ton of money to remove some teeth and have cavities done, so i have to wait for a while to see what happens. i hope everything goes well

I have several cavities. My teeth suck

No root canals though. My mom has had a couple of root canals.

I recently went to the dentist and he asked if I had ever considered orthodontic work and I said I was in braces for THREE years. I cried. Went to an oral surgeon to get an opinion. Turns out I have an overbite and it was probably caused by trauma. It takes surgery and more braces to fix it. I also have had my wisdom teeth pulled. While in braces I had two teeth taken out on top to make more room.

Anyways, honestly they numb you up real good and it shouldn't be that bad, especially compared to what you've gone through. No advice on the root canal though.
