Not experienced campers. Planning on pitching a tent for young adults next to RV.

How is the cold this time of year?

Any suggestions?

Here are the average temperatures for January from the Weather Channel: http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/daily/USFL0372?climoMonth=1

Based on my time when I lived in Florida, January has wide variables. It can be sunny and pleasant one day, wet/cold/windy the next. Just watch the weather forecast leading up to your trip so you can prepare properly.

It won't be swimming pool weather unless you're from Canada (but it's always hot tub weather :cool1:).

I remember the times I was there in January (3 separate trips for the Disney road races: Half Marathon, Marathon, 5k) and we saw a little of everything.

I've seen lows in the 20's, I've seen lows in the 60's. Be prepared for both.

Ditto on what the other posters said. The temperatures vary greatly. We have camped at the fort in Jauary and it was warm(ish), then went back in March and there was an unpredicted cold spell! We only brought shorts and tshirts, so we nearly froze to death...:confused3

I've seen many campers bring electric blankets and electric heaters and been very comfortable in January....

Good luck!

I've camped in January twice. Once it was very cold and the other it was quite mild.

I guess I'll invest in electric blankets and tent heaters to be safe. If its to cold we can fit everybody in the RV on the floors but that makes for a miserable experience.

Are the showers/bathrooms etc. heated? One small bathroom for 6 adults will not do :crazy2:

Yes, they are heated, air-conditioned, clean, and well appointed. Just remember after midnight (if you have to make a late night run) you need to take your key card.

You may find yourself lingering there before rejoining your party. :cool1:

We went late one Feb in a popup camper without a heater. It did get down in the 40s one night. We put on warm socks and had extra blankets. The bathrooms were nice and warm to shower in the morning.

We went swimming when it was about 60 degrees and rainy. The pool could have been a little warmer but was not bad. It was COLD getting out though!

During our Feb week, the daytime temp ranged from high 80s down to 50 a few days later.
