I hope so!!!Wonder if this means the boat route between Ft Wilderness, WL and the Contemporary will return?

In these regards, I would argue that Disney isn't really a typical timeshare developer. That’s all well and good as long as the economy is humming along and interest rates are low, but there’s a reason timeshare developers try to unload as fast as they can. I know you know this but their margin is greater if they can turn the sites faster because they pay less in carrying costs.

I bet YES absolutely. New association.Umm ok. Will they have resale restrictions?![]()
I would guess maybe 20 minutes. I've only stayed in the campsites, but the cabins look to be furthest away from the dock. There is an internal bus system, though. How far of a walk is it from the cabins to the boat dock? I’ve never been.
Oops, I left "net yet" out.......back to edit I go.Ok, well your post read:
So that's where the confusion arose. I doubt it will ever open back up. It had to be shared, cost-wise, with CR, and CR sees no benefit.
My guess is Occupancy 8 and mid-season not greater than 600 pts/wk.
The article said 6 adults 1 br one the one site - I don’t have the direct source from disney - but that would be a direct replacement at 500 sq ft - and that is 1/2 the size of the treehouse350 cabins?
Will the point chart (using middle season) be closer to:
SSR Treehouses 322 pts/wk
Poly Bungalow 994 pts/wk
Copper Creek Cabins 777 pts/wk
(OKW Grand Villa 418 pts/wk - which is the most economical GV)
Previously Fort Wilderness cabins were in the moderate category. Rebuilding for DVC should put them in the deluxe category. Likely to be nicer and enjoy deluxe perks.

These tiny homes are nowhere near the quality of a CC or Poly cabin or a Grand Villa. They're prefab mobile homes, essentially, at around 500 square feet. A lower-end 1BR DVC.350 cabins?

Ya, I had read somewhere (and I can't find the source...but it wasn't a bus driver) that CR didn't want to foot the bill for the boat service. So that's where the confusion arose. I doubt it will ever open back up. It had to be shared, cost-wise, with CR, and CR sees no benefit.
Bungalow and C Cabin are the same and have widely different points charts. These tiny homes are nowhere near the quality of a CC or Poly cabin or a Grand Villa. They're prefab mobile homes, essentially, at around 500 square feet. A lower-end 1BR DVC.
Could be a very good excuse for a very different Disney vacation for some. We would happily spend a leisurely 10-14 days if our dog could tag along...meaning leaving her only for max 4 hour stretches in the am and late pm.While I like the idea of bringing my dog with me on vacation, I can't see being gone all day from the room and her, which happens often enough on a Disney vacation. Maybe the more leisurely DVC traveler won't mind this.
Is this being DVC's 17th resort a hint that Poly towers will be same association as Poly1? Or do we expect the cabins to open up before Poly2 since this is 2024 and Poly2 is "late" 2024?
Is there limits to how many and what breed of dog you can bring?Seems like Disney being smart - the cabins were tired and needed a refurb anyway. Now DVC buyers will be footing the bill for this refurb / replace and will pay for any maintenance going forward. Similar to VGF2. No brainer Win-Win for them.
Stylistically, these look mid-century modern. Funny that everyone seems thrilled so far with the concept. When the art for a very similar-looking Reflections style was leaked, many were up in arms about how the style didn't fit with the Fort. (I loved the Reflections concept art and was sad to see it canceled, but find the overall positive reaction this time around humorous)!
Agree with others that the dog factor makes this a non-starter for our family. We love camping, but usually prefer somewhere secluded that is not close to barking dogs all night.
I haven't seen an official release from DVC but two different articles from two different sources reference the same verbiage of it being the 17th DVC resort.Where have you seen the press release saying this is will be the 17th DVC resort?
Because they never referred to Poly tower other then new DVC villas.
So, if they are officially announcing it that way…then it may be a clue Poly tower is going to be rolled in to PVB
If these are going to sit on the original cabin foundations, they're going to be 504 square feet. That's pretty small for a 1BR. Riviera 1BRs are 813 square feet.If these are 800 sq ft, one bedroom fitting 6 as some suggest I cant see them justifying even close to the treehouse 8 person 3 bedrooms. Many times Disney has inflated point charts of these standalone units but that won’t be possible when they need to sell on their own without studios and other unit types hiding the costs. Given these rooms seem to go for <$600 cash during normal times I’d struggle to justify even 25 pts a night for them just to break even.
Edit: I just compared rack rates at cabins now vs rivieras and standard view 1br cash rate is about 2x rack rate for cabin. This to me means the cabins would have to come in at half the riviera 1br point chart to remotely make sense.
