Ft. Wilderness Cabins becoming DVC?

Where have you seen the press release saying this is will be the 17th DVC resort?

Because they never referred to Poly tower other then new DVC villas.

So, if they are officially announcing it that way…then it may be a clue Poly tower is going to be rolled in to PVB
I have seen this same verbiage and hope it means Poly tower will be the same association as Poly 1… but these Ft Wilderness DVC cabins could open first as the 17th before Poly tower opens as the 18th. Hmmmm

Stylistically, these look mid-century modern. Funny that everyone seems thrilled so far with the concept. When the art for a very similar-looking Reflections style was leaked, many were up in arms about how the style didn't fit with the Fort. (I loved the Reflections concept art and was sad to see it canceled, but find the overall positive reaction this time around humorous)!
Not everyone. It's taking the Fort out of the Fort. :( The existing cabins were one of 2 remaining cash options I wanted to try at WDW and the main reason was the non-contemporary rustic design.

Good catch! I think the “17th” is significant - as a number wasn’t attached to Poly 2.0 when it was announced. I also don’t think they’d risk calling these cabins the 17th if they were planning on Poly2 being 18th, since so many things can happen with construction delays, etc.

I think this is partially an olive branch to Riv owners -sure, GFV2 and PVB 2 are unrestricted, but look - we built some restricted cabins so you aren’t the one resort at WDW sticking out with resale restrictions.

We are planning on buying PVB 2 direct to go alongside our resale Poly points. But if it’s same association, and these cabins have a much lower direct price point… we might consider it.

It’s actually mentioned in the announcement webpage posted by DVC Fan. It’s further down in the article.

Or if this Ft. Wilderness villas open before Poly2, then May lend one to think Poly2 could be a separate associate. The question is, what new resort opens first?

Besides location, amenities and being a trailer in the woods
They were deluxe for all but the past 17 years - they have more amenities than the treehouses - they will have a new pool and restaurants and have an awesome location a boat ride to MK - location is just as good as WL

And Poly and contemporary are just stacked “trailers” as well.

This is all pretty shocking. To have 2 “new” DVC resorts begin sales in the same year is kinda mind boggling… especially right now. Then, to give absolute clarity in 2 out of 3 announcements (VGF2 will be part of current VGF association; VFW will be DVC’s 17th resort), yet so much uncertainty about Poly2?!??
Why, Disney? Why?!!! :badpc:

This VFW flip is very interesting and, IMO, similar to the Reflections idea. If they add a lazy river style pool, plus some new restaurants/coffee shops to the FW area… I’d be very intrigued.

You still have a year - the cabins are cheaper now than they were 15 years ago

I get it. They ARE drastically different looking than what's currently there. Hopefully the points chart and cash rate won't be too astronomical. I don't think they'll rent out otherwise.

I’m excited about the cabins, but I’m also waiting for a refurb of the treehouses. I haven’t been, but the videos make it look old and stale. I think a lot of their recent refurbs have been great, especially the one at the shared SSR.

I haven't seen an official release from DVC but two different articles from two different sources reference the same verbiage of it being the 17th DVC resort.

I just saw it...it does say that...but because these are slated to open before Poly tower, I am not sure it gives us any more info than we had, because technically, Poly tower would be the 18th resort if it is coming after these.

Agree they look like 1970s Pocono’s

My family is currently deciding between the tree houses or 2 br villas at Riviera …. I would rather the cabins - at least they are not out of the way.

I am excited to check this out!

However, as a CCV owner, I would be pretty upset if they rolled this into our association. We bought CCV over AKL strictly to have the 11 month window for rooms during the holidays. I would not want to compete with a whole new group for those rooms.

The fact that these are not at the same resort means it would be pretty hard to roll them into either CCV or BRV....BPK was rolled in to VGF because it is located at the same hotel complex....and of course, they called it the 17th DVC resort so we know already its going to be a new condo association.

I agree! It is mind boggling for sure! But, it proves one thing...that when they want us to know exactly what will happen, they are not vague.

They were clear from the start with BPK that was a phase two of VGF and therefore, part of the condo association, and clear with this that it is a new resort (which is obvious since its not located where other DVC rooms are), but with Poly tower, we still just don't know.

Maybe we will get lucky soon so they can use it as a sales pitch!!! Pretty please DVD...gives us the info!!!
