What is the best way to get from Ft. Lauderdale airport to North Captiva Islands, Florida?
I hate to rent a car that will have to sit in parking all week, but that looks like the only way we can do it.
Any suggestions?:confused3

Are you getting the ferry at Pine Island? Maybe there's some kind of private shuttle service at FLL?
Either that or win the lottery and go by private plane! Lucky you, I've only been there for an afternoon, it is so gorgeous!

There are no buses or scheduled air service from Ft. Lauderdale to Ft. Myers. You have no real choice but to drive. I'd consider Enterprise, as you at least could just rent the car for the day then have them pick it up at the Pineland Marina, where you get the ferry. There are multiple Enterprise locations in Cape Coral, so you should have no problem getting picked up when you need to get a car for the trip back.

Cape Coral is no where near North Captiva Island. How would you get from there to Captiva?

Check the price of limo service. You may be surprised.

Call Hertz and ask about a one way rental. How will you return? One way rental back?

Fly into Orlando, and then to Ft. Myers... still need to get to Captiva but a limo would be much cheaper from there (than Ft. Lauderdale).
