Frustrated!

I started the LA weight loss plan yesterday. Last night I was terribly sick. I went in today and they informed me that I shouldn't have done the two day "induction" period that most people do, because of my gall bladder surgery and problems I've had since then. Basically I can't eat a lot of fatty foods or greasy foods. Hamburger and other meats kill me if I eat a lot of them, so do eggs and anything spicy or acidy (orange juice). They offered to help me figure out which plan I should be on but by this time I didn't feel good and was just very upset.

They were very nice and gave me my money back after I got frustrated and didn't know what else to do. Now I'm back at square one. My doctor has told me I can't do Atkins, so I'm at a loss. I really do love carbs and eat a lot of them (whole wheat bagel every morning for brekfast), and since I can't eat a ton of red meat I think it would be hard to do some of the diets out there.

I am working out with a personal trainer, but I really would like to do something else to jump start my weight loss. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks so much guys, sorry for the frustration!
The wedding is in less than 4 weeks now, I know there isn't too much I can do in that period of time but I would like to figure something out!

First of all Lisa a  for you. I don't follow any type of set plan. I just do my own thing. I make sensible food choices and basically eat what I want to eat in moderation. I keep to around 1200 calories a day, which is right for me. I've found it fairly easy to find out the nutritional value of all kinds of different foods, and I'm learning as I go along. Something like this might work for you. Especially if there are certain things that you know that you can't eat, you can just keep away from them. BTW I love my carbs too, I just incorporate them into my food for the day! :hyper:

Good luck with whatever it is that you decided to do. I'm sure that if you get on a plan now you could lose 10lbs before the wedding.

Good Morning Lisa,

With a wedding in 4 weeks, the last thing you need is more stress. What about just trying to eat more veggies and no bread or added sugar products? You wouldn't have to keep up with anything or count. Could you manage to cut down to 1/2 a whole wheat bagel? Maybe add some scrambled eggs for protein to fill you up.
Good luck, I know you'll find what fits! Sometimes we have to wander around a bit. :sunny:

Everyone has given you great advice and I agree you don't need to be adding more stress on top of a wedding. I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and sending you a  .

Drinking 80-100 oz of water a day is a great way to start! It doesn't sound like much, but it will help you in so many ways! Just keep a water bottle with you at all times and sip away all through the day.

Best wishes on finding what works for you!! :sunny:
