I know the International area of Epcot does not open until 11am generally (Akershus for breakfast though)

Will the ride open at 11am do you think? Debating on booking early Akershus to get in line...

No one knows when it will open, and high likelihood the ride and meet and greet will both be opening at 9am with park opening.

If not you'll see huge lines of people waiting starting at 9 that will wait until 11am. So expect it to be open at 9am

I wouldn't expect this to open with the rest of the park simply due to its popularity.

I never understood why they never opened World Showcase until 11am (I guess since there really isn't anything to DO there).

What time did Maelstrom open? You think it would open the same time as it did?

Yikes, I hadn't even considered that! It will make the FP even more important. Hhmmmmm...

Some speculate it may open at 9am to pull crowds from the reopening of Soarin'.

Not really. I expect the new ride and meet & greet to be substantially more popular than Maelstrom (rip) ever was. Disney would be INSANE not to open it at park opening....especially since the rope drop is between Norway and China (or at least it was that one time I made it there).

Nobody knows this yet.

If they choose to open it at 11, everybody is going to go over there at 9 and stand in line for two hours anyway.

If they choose to open at 9, everyone will run like heck from the front of the park, and those who booked Akershus early will already be in line.

Assuming they allow guests to queue for the ride before official park opening.

I remember a time when World Showcase and Future World both opened at the same time.

This is true, but on the other hand what about Disney's "cutbacks" "money issues" whatever the heck they wanna call it. If they are supposedly cutting all these CM's hours, they will have to magically find the money to supply workers for Norway an extra 2 hours everyday. If Disney is as "bad" off as it leads to be.....and we all know that's not the truth!

It used to open at 9:00. But that ended not too long thereafter.

Plus .. Norway is near the "edge" of the World Showcase. They can easily open Norway up without having to open up most of the rest of World Showcase.
Open up Mexico too .. then ALL the rides in the park will be open at 9:00 AM and they can leave the rest of outdated food court/shopping center known as World Showcase closed until lunch still.

When you enter WS through the international gateway you get to walk through United Kingdom and Canada. If they are going to let you through Mexico and Norway early now you might as well open it all up at 9am.

Smart Disney = 9 am

Dumb Disney = 11 am
Typical Disney = 11:00 am for "regular guests" and 9:00 am for guests paying $69 for early entry and some School Bread.

Half of me is being a tongue in cheek cynic and the other half of me believes that the Early Morning Cupcake Hour in FL was a "test" to see what they could get away with in Froway.
