Frozen Holiday Premium Package at HS

Yeah they had it this summer but guess what? I don't get to Disney whenever I feel like it and as someone said when you're already spending thousand of dollars what's a couple hundred more? I don't understand why people have to diss something they don't want to do. I don't have to justify how I choose to spend my hard earned money to anyone.

We are not dissing on you, we are dissing on the event being over-priced as well as the implications that all these new hard ticket events have on the value of our base ticket. Nobody is telling you to not spend your money.

I don't think anyone is saying that anyone who buys this one is silly. I really hope my comments on this thread didn't come off that way and if they did I sincerely apologize!!! :)

I think that value is in the eye of the beholder. For me, the fact that neither my husband or I drink puts most of these events with alcohol into the "not-a-good-value" category. In contrast, we feel that the Tomorrowland Dessert Party is a good value for us in that respect. And then people with kids are going to have a different perspective than people traveling with a friend or as a couple. Etc.

I hope that whoever goes has a blast! I'm sure it will be well-done. Anything with the Osborne Lights is going to be fun because they are an amazing display.

I'm actually curious about the pin and the lithograph. That might end up being something very cool to have if you are a Frozen fan.

I don't think you have to justify and I don't think anyone on here is judging people who booked this.

The fact remains- if you compare this to other previous Disney offerings this is overpriced- plain and simple. Although is overpriced the right word or should I say Disney has realized they can ask more for their new product and we will pay it? Who knows. All I know is these premium events are still a somewhat new idea and there is going to be some growing pains.

Even though I think this is completely overpriced I will admit I bought tickets yesterday. Why- b/c we are going when it is really crowded and the extra elbow room is much too appealing for me with little kids and we are also going to a later party so I can see how the reviews are before I decide to keep or cancel.

I think a lot of us that are interested in this are going holiday weeks (or so it seems) when this seems like a better value, considering the crowds, and something where eh, its a holiday, so spending a bit extra doesn't seem as crazy for whatever reason. We're doing this Christmas Eve. If it were, I don't know, February 10th, no, I wouldn't do it. But Christmas Eve night? Hells yeah! What a way to spend it! We've seen Fantasmic, God, twenty times? Will be nice for something different and relaxing and special.

This is a special holiday thing...other times of the year, I agree, it wouldn't make sense, but right around Christmas and Thanksgiving when the parks are insane? Lots of folks are willing to shell out a bit extra to have some downtime away from the jostling of huge crowds and an "extra" FP+ selection. And alcohol. Let's not forget that, lol.

I'll be interested to read the reviews of those who go. I know the desserts were fabulous for both of the FSF Premium packages we did. I said both times, it was worth the $59 just for the dessert party.

I know this party isn't for us. Not only due to price, but because my son can't stand the dancing lights. We have to walk fast through the lights to see them between the times they dance.

One thing I would think would be with the package would be a card with the signatures of the Frozen characters. Like they did with the back of the Take-along Olaf.

I booked this package yesterday and The CM I spoke to said everyone with a ticket would get a Frozen pin and lithograph. Can't wait to see the early reviews of this pkg. We can always cancel if we don't like what we are hearing.

It seems very easy to make this worthwhile. Guarantee some face time with the A&E and it's almost a no brainer, especially for those who got shut out of an FP.

I get exactly what you are saying and I felt the same way about the Villains Soiree thread (which we attended and thought was 100% worth the money!) I don't have any problem whatsoever with Disney providing VIP events and charging a LOT for them. After all, it's Disney and we know we aren't going for a bargain! ;) I still can't imagine anyone thinking the Villain Soiree wasn't worth it! It was AMAZING!

I had no interest whatsoever in the premium package for F&W, I saw people standing at a roped off table while I sat on a bench 3 feet away from them. Sure, someone went and got their stuff for them and it may have been more worth it had it been swamped, but I would never have paid the money for that!

I wholeheartedly admit I'm not a big Frozen person and my DD is 13 so doesn't care either, so either way I wouldn't be doing this. And if the rumors are true and there is a premium experience with A&E at the castle during MVMCP, I could totally a million percent see how that would be worth it to people! This one just seems almost shockingly lacking in comparison for the price, and it seems extremely obvious they are just billing this as a "Frozen" event to charge double for it. I think that's a lot of what people are reacting to. I really think an A&E meet and greet should be included in this!

I do hope you enjoy it, though! I hope the reviews are awesome!

:thumbsup2 Exactly why we booked it....still on the fence and will keep or cancel based on early reviews.

No one is dissing anyone who chooses to do this! We are just stating our own opinion of the package itself. To us it is in no way worth it, but to some it may be. To each his own! Hope you enjoy it!

I have a question. If lots of people are willing to spend $89 on this, and $99 on the Villains Soiree, and $129 on Harambe nights, doesn't that just give Disney the green light to increase park admission prices by a huge amount? Obviously people have more income to spend to get into the park so why not make everybody part with it?

Because they are smart enough to know that not everybody can part with it. By adding in upsell options they are getting both, those that can only handle admission and those that can buy extras. I see more extras coming before there is a significant price increase. They'll keep the COLA type increases every year.

Plus, they like the idea of making those who can buy the upgrades feel like it's something exclusive. That feeling adds to the value/cost. They do have to be careful not to over saturate the market though. Too many upgrades and they'll run out of people who will buy it.

I kind of think of these events as the tours they offer. No one complains about them being there or their cost. At least not in abundance. They are not cheap but those who want to sign up can and those who don't, don't. Seems the same to me

Not necessarily. These only green light them for other extras at a cost. They do not effect tickets because you can still come and enjoy the park with out any of these extra events.

I think the $99 villains soirée and the Food and Wine premium package at $199 and part at $79 are what showed them maybe people will actually pay more for special.

I read an article in the Sentinel a few weeks ago that Disney is doing these "premium" events to boost their revenue without raising park prices. Maybe they are worried about reaching that $100 price point for park tickets?

I have faith that the market will decide when these events get to be too much or which events stink and aren't worth it, etc. Like that one they are having at Epcot during F&W with the bottle of wine and truffles and a magic band...they already killed a whole bunch of days for that due to low demand.

I do think it gives them less incentive to add things to the parks though, that's not a good thing.

Yeah, except Disney isn't planning on having the characters meet guests as part of this package.

It was actually the Food & Wine Late Night Live event that got cut back and not the premium package, of which admission to the Late Night Live event was a part.

As noted, there is no mention of character greets in the description of the Frozen event package, which indicates that there won't be any personal character greets. Frozen characters do appear in the Frozen singalong show, but that can be accessed without the package.

Heck, not only that but it's $89 for a 10 yo and they can't even have a drink!

This is my biggest problem. I might be able to get over the $89 for me and DW -- after all, with a few drinks, there is at least some semblance of value. But $59 for DS7 seems pretty shocking -- and $89 for DD10 just strikes me as insane.

I have booked it because I'm going on a busy day, but my current strong inclination is to cancel unless I hear some unexpectedly great things from the early reviews.

In the end, I suspect the $89 for DD10 will be my breaking point; I just can't imagine hearing anything so magical that I will be able to justify it. But I guess time will tell.
