Frozen Holiday Premium Package at HS

I'll pay for exclusive, but I see nothing exclusive in this package. As others have mentioned, you can FP+ the sing a long and walk through the lights, so you are really only paying for desserts and alcohol. In fact, this package seems to be priced more for less than what was offered with the summer package - fireworks, the Royal procession, etc. I don't get it. If you got a meal, sure. A meet and greet, of course! But this?

We did the Star Wars breakfast at Sci Fi this year and I felt that was well worth the money. Instant meet and greet with Darth Vadar and Bobo Fett plus tons of characters that came to you as you ate a huge breakfast, plus some really special Star Wars clips on the screen. This was a truly special, exclusive event. I wish Disney would do more of these and stop these slapped together events that offer nothing you couldn't do on your own. But I guess they feel they have a market for this - we shall see!

Ding! Ding!

That's exactly how I feel this event is - 'slapped together'. It's almost as if a Disney event planner was sitting around and thinking, "Hmmm…now that we don't offer the Frozen Summer Premium Package anymore - what can we do this winter to make more money????"

And although there aren't any fireworks or parades scheduled in the winter for DHS, the planner says, "Eureka! We'll just offer 'reserved seating' for the Osborne Lights!! Who cares if no one really 'sits' to see the lights??!!"

Part of the fun of the lights is strolling down the street, seeing them all from different angles…and as I mentioned before - searching for the purple cat! How can you find the cat if you're sitting at one end of the lights??

Curious, do you think anyone from Disney reads these boards? Do you think it will push them to add more to the package? Seems like 99% of the people on this post don't see the value, and then there are people, like me, who booked it with the thought that they will wait for reviews to come in and then will decide whether to keep or cancel. I mean it seems if the first reviews say don't waste your money its a total rip off, then that would spark a mass cancellation...that would be a lot of $$ that Disney is losing out on.

I'm holding out for a dessert party at Cindy's. As we already have a singalong pass and plan to see the lights and visit Wandering Oaken's for some Frozen themed treats, I have a hard time justifying this cost for 3 adults and 2 kids.

However, a dessert party/meet and greet at the castle with some additional Frozen characters other than A&E (like Kristoff and Olaf) - and we are there. We have A&E passes for 12/5 - but my kids (and me) would love to meet other Frozen characters.

Makes me scared, though, to see how much they'll charge for this if they can get $89 per adult with no meet and greet! :scared1:

I do not know there will be a dessert party they still have scheduled dinners at what would be those times christmas week FYI now unless they cancel peoples dinner reservations

These premium packages are a business trend. The point is to price high to segment the market. They are not suppose to be accessible pricing. These Premium packages that are popping up (different from the typical special events) are 100% price levers.

So pricey is part of the mystique. There is a segment of consumer that wants exclusivity...and price helps define exclusivity.

But you must have desirability too. And maybe if you've never gone to DHS during .holidays this sounds desirable but I'm not seeing it...

- seating for frozen show..(um it doesn't fill up and it offers fast pass)
- reserved viewing Osborn (don't most walk around? Do we desire to sit during Osborne?)
- desert package (is this different than the desert packages that cost almost half the price? )

So it seems the value is the alcohol and maybe that makes it desirable enough. Maybe for christmas week this is desirable enough.

But for me, I find this a off putting...I don't mind premium pricing but this feels like wool over the eyes.

I would think the frozen sing along will be packed full or exceeding full christmas week There must be something for this pricing that we are not being told

LOL... naughty, naughty, naughty. And you outed yourself with it on the Dis too ;) Don't worry, we'll keep your secret, wink wink.

I know, I am a bad man, her friends should know better by now but I swear it's the most fun I have outside Disney and they fall for it far too often.

All they have to do is put the suggestion in people's minds that they can't do these things without the package.

I remember the Frozen Summer Fun...I bought it. I didn't know how hard it was going to be to get into the Singalong or see the parade. Then when I heard the reports and got all of the details (thanks to that great tips thread!), I made the decision to cancel it, because I was unsure if we would make it to the fireworks/dessert party anyway.

I think the alcohol is a big factor too. Drinks are pricey at WDW, so you could find the value there. I wish they would do two versions, with and without alcohol, but I guess that would be too complicated.

What is this Cindy's thing I have been hearing about for Frozen?? What exactly is it?? And what does this offer?? I am just curious as I have never heard of this before????

The rumors are that there will be a Frozen-themed dessert party package offered for MVMCP, like the Villains Soiree at MNSSHP.

Then that would be ok wouldn't it? Because I have a 5:35 reservation at CRT on a MVMCP night. I would hate to think I spent half the night getting this reservation only to have the cancel it for a private party.

A 5:35 ADR wouldn't be affected by a Premium Package. The 1st event of the evening would begin after the fireworks - a little after 10:00.

There are still early-evening ADRs at CRT now, during MNSSHP and they can still do the Villains Soiree. The castle part of the package doesn't commence until 10 and 11.

Did the Frozen summer party. Need to get there early early for the parade if you want a good spot. Had free water, water Pop and ice cream.
Had no problem all summer getting into Frozen singalong when no fast passes were available. Even the last minute stand by line seemed to always get in.
We had the special area to watch the firework show but because you were up at he stage area you couldn't see the fireworks too well
As for the dessert party. They had a bunch of smaller desserts( not same as ones sold). Most of which my 7 year old didn't like.
Since we had primarily water and Pop and a couple of desserts it really didn't add up to the then 39.00 child and 59.00 adult prices
The drinks are small and half filled with ice but are strong. If you do not have to drive anywhere you are ok but how much can you really drink to get 89.00 worth plus your kids value??? I had about three drinks , waters and about three small desserts.
It was an experience and I thought about booking again just because it's frozen and my daughters favourite until I seen the price. No way possible to justify price at that amount. Do all the events, buy the large specialty drinks in the Olaf collector cups and have the large special cupcakes and desserts and get a bunch of souvenirs at the stores. You will still enjoy it all and save a lot of money!!
Just my opinion based on experience. Love Frozen but you are not getting anything really for your money with what they offer on the seasonal package. Had they added meet and greets it may be worth it then or at least make it something more to consider .

This is my biggest problem. I might be able to get over the $89 for me and DW -- after all, with a few drinks, there is at least some semblance of value. But $59 for DS7 seems pretty shocking -- and $89 for DD10 just strikes me as insane.

I have booked it because I'm going on a busy day, but my current strong inclination is to cancel unless I hear some unexpectedly great things from the early reviews.

In the end, I suspect the $89 for DD10 will be my breaking point; I just can't imagine hearing anything so magical that I will be able to justify it. But I guess time will tell.

Well, my plan was to wait for the early reviews to see if there was something amazing about this, but when DW found out the price, her response was something along the lines of "Are you out of your freaking mind?" We have officially canceled. At least it's one less thing I have to keep on my checklist before the trip -- especially since I was 99% sure this was going to be the end result anyway. I do hope that those who do this have a wonderful time, and I'll still be very interested to see the feedback once it starts.

If I went all the time and took my little Frozen loving grand daughters all the time I wouldn't bother. Because this may be a once in a lifetime trip for me (and them) I see the value in it. Frozen, sing-along, Christmas lights = worth it for me, especially since the day we go is projected to be super busy.

I read through most of the posts here....:)
I agree, it can all be done without the extra cost.
That said, I booked it.
As other posters have said here...I'll check back and see what everyone says. It can be cancelled.
We are going to be arriving in Disney on NYE and are staying out of the parks til Sun. We're avoiding the ridiculous crowds leftover from the holiday. We booked it for that Fri. Our girls LOVE Frozen...we've never seen the Osborne lights lit. We'll see it from the viewing area and as we walk around. The girls will have their special pins, we'll have dessert, I'll have a drink or two, lol, and we got some guaranteed holiday fun :goodvibes without being turned away etc.
It's NYE, a totally last minute plan...the girls are excited, why not?
Otherwise I would have not even bothered.

Also have this booked as a surprise for the family. We don't actually care all that much about the Frozen part of the event, but we LOVE LOVE LOVE the Osbourne lights and are travelling with a group that is a bit averse to crowds. Since we will be at HS on Christmas day, thought it might be neat to do this, and get out of the crowds at least for a little bit, lol. I realize it makes very little financial sense in terms of value, especially since we don't care much about the Frozen sing along part, but it isn't going to break our budget for the trip, so I thought it was at least worth booking until there is more info on it. Am really interested to see the feedback from those who go to the first parties. That will help me decide rather to keep, or let it go lol.
