Frozen Fireworks: Alaska on the Wonder July 2, 2012

More room for souvenirs on the way home! :goodvibes

My thoughts as well!! I also take old PJs/underwear/clothes that I'm going to toss anyway, toiletries/.sunscreen half bottles that I'm going to use up etc.. to have extra room on the way home :)

Six weeks today and DS & I fly out :dance3::cool1: We have the suitcase and our carry-on bags next to the computer in the study area and DS & I are packing stuff every week and printing/packing reservations etc... So exciting!! I have everything booked and paid for for both legs of our vacation!!!

I just hope our luggage tags arrive on time!! They did last cruise so fingers crossed.

Nop... I'm having problems with the DCL website trying to get to port adventures. Any advise and recommendation to non DCL excursion will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.:goodvibes

This is our first Disney Cruise so we weren't able to get excursions until a little later plus it took us a while to decide what we wanted to do. When we finally did several things were full, but we were able to find the same excursions on our own. They weren't any cheaper, but they all had great reviews and seem to do the exact same things.

In Juneau we went with Captain Larry's Whale Watching through Orca Enterprises.

In Skagway we are doing the Glacier Flightseeing/Dog Sledding through Shore Excursions. Their website was connected to the various cruise lines and had some of the same pictures used on the DCL excursion pages.

We are doing the Fjords Flightseeing in Ketchikan, but that is through DCL.

We have no experience with the tours of these places, but my experience with them, in terms of planning and questions, etc. has been great so far.

Hope this helps

Hey.. do we have a count at this point for FE gifts? I am going to be putting in an order tomorrow.

Thank you for sharing your information WarEagleGirl...:goodvibes;)
It seems you did great selecting your excursions.:thumbsup2
I haven't decided it what to do yet...:headache:::confused:

so so exciting!!

The Fedex man just paid me a visit and gave me my cruise docs!!!! They shipped from Florida on 21 May. It's the 24th here, but still the 23rd in Florida so :yay: for Fedex.

Exciting to have the luggage tags and in countdown mode. I just have to keep it safe and only let Mr birthday boy skim over it so he doesn't see that I've booked the Dog Sled Adventure by Helicopter!!!

Now I just have to wait.... 5 weeks two days til we fly out :cheer2:

Wow, cruise docs! That's so exciting! Mine have to go via my travel agent -- she's not far from me, but it does add a few days (or weeks) to the process :P

Hope I did not miss out on the FE list?????
I logged into the link yesterday and confirmed....do we get a list sent to us on that by chance?
Last count I saw was from Tuesday with a count and we weren't on that list

Not too late! The deadline to sign up is June 8. The only change to the list (since Tuesday) is that you signed up! I just the spreadsheet and can confirm that you are on the list. I've been giving this some thought on how to handle changing room assignments. Since not everyone attend the meet-n-greet, I was thinking the easiest is for anyone with changes to call me with your new room # on the first day. I will post the revised FE list (Disname and room#)on my door . It's my way of making sure you all start your delivery with me :rolleyes1. Any thoughts?

We're up to 16 families (31 adults and 21 kids) on the FE list (I'm counting my sister). Not sure how many more will sign up between now and June 8. Is there any interest in splitting up the list if it gets more than 20 families?

Seems like a lot of work for you:confused3 how about put up the list/spreadsheet on your door, make sure it has a column for new/changed cabin number ..and then if anyone has changed cabins have them change it on the list that is posted on your door..then you don't have to take time out of your vacation to sort through messages and make changes:cool1:

I agree with this approach -- if someone gets to a room that was on the original list with no FE hanging up, then they can head to your room and check for updated info ;)

Speaking of which, are you going to send out the list prior to the meet-and-greet on Embarkation Day, or are you just planning on having hard copies that day? THANK YOU!!! for coordinating this!

PS -- yes, if we hit 20 families, it may be wise to split things up.

PPS -- I do anonymous FE gifting typically. Is that okay for our FE as well?

I vote for if at all possible posting the list prior to the meet-and-greet just in case someone can't make meet and greet:confused3

:thumbsup2 Sounds like an even better idea! I'll do that.

I plan on sending the list to everyone via email as soon as the FE sign up closes. That way the information will be kept private to only those who signed up. The list posted on my door will only have the Disname and stateroom # and a column for new room#. For those who don't have rooms assigned, can you either post her or send me a PM when you get your cruise docs so I can get the list as close to finalized as possible before I send it out?

I agree with splitting as the list get larger. Right now I have individual gifts and have 48 of those.. .Might have to reconsider if it does get larger than 48 individuals.

Also I want to appologize.. I know I was going to have my DD10 email with others on the group and unfortunately my work has been terrible and have not even got her lined up. She has been dancing and finishing up school and had not even been around the computer.

Honestly have not even though out how we will pack or what to even take for this trip. I am going so blind on this trip. DH and DD10 leave on June 20 for a roadtrip up to Seattle through national parks, so I need to start packing so they can take the suitcases with them. Then I will fly out and meet them in Seattle 2 days before and hoping I can get by with just a carry on because they will have the luggage.
It is so HOT here that I can't even consider what I might need for Alaska or Seattle.

Cruise documents came today :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am impatiently waiting for Monday when the first Alaska cruise returns. I hope they post quickly. I'm rethinking my excursions.....

Agree that we should split the FE if it's over 20. I have my adults gifts ready, now I need to figure out the kiddos.

37 days to go!

We are going to Alaska on this cruise. It will be me (Stacie), DH (Steven), and my 7 year old little girl from Houston Texas. We are travelling with another family of 3 from New Olrelans- Beth, Mike, and their 8 year old girl.

Please sign us up for the meet and greet.

Thanks!

So are everyone's cruise docs coming Fed Ex? I hope so! I'll be on the lookout for Fed Ex. I sure hope they don't come regular mail, we don't get a lot of our mail and it could very well end up at another house. I sure don't want that to happen!
