Frozen dining packages are up!!

We just returned last night and did the 4pm Frozen show with just the pre-show package on Sunday, July 17th. We had reservations for the earlier show, but realized that morning Disneyland would be doing their birthday celebration event at the time we were to check in. I called around 10am and asked if there was any way I could switch to the later show and it was quickly accomplished. We arrived at the check in right at 2:30, but most people had already checked in and were waiting inside the gate for the pre-show area to open. So they must have starting checking people in before 2:30. The lady at check in suggested we go ride Monsters Inc after we had checked in...we did, but I was sorry later. It was a longer line than maybe she anticipated(?), but by the time we got back to the area (3ish) we felt really rushed to enjoy the pre-show event. The lines were fairly long for the snow cones/beer/wine. The popcorn was gone. They did go get some more, but it was close to the end of the time. I should have asked if we could take food/beverages in the theatre. Just assumed no. We would have gotten popcorn and snow cones to take with us. By the time I drank my wine and got the photopass pictures at the backdrops, it was time to go. All in all though, I feel like it was a great value for what we got. My daughter was exceptionally excited about the lanyard/Frozen show pin that came with it. I will make a couple notes below, but ask questions if you have them!

*The photopass photographers were great in this section. They took a lot of time and suggested several poses. I did not realize those pictures would be included in the price of the package. We were planning to buy all the photos taken on the 17th already because it was my daughter's (and Disneyland's!) birthday so we waited for photo-ops as much as possible and were concentrating them this day. I was looking through my photopass photos today though and all of those photos are free of the watermark and have the option to download with no purchase. We had my daughter and niece with us and probably ended up with a good 25-30 photos between two backdrops. Olaf was already gone by the time we got to the pictures.

*Lunch package people were in with us. They had a different lanyard tag, but waited in the same line and had access to the same seating sections. The up-price is for that fancy lunch. We had our choice of seats from the main level of the theatre. There was no specific section. They just let us loose and we all chose our own place. I suppose you could go upstairs, but we all seemed to find orchestra level seating.

*Feels like I had one more note to make, but cannot think of it. Will edit if I get a chance.

All in all, highly recommend at least the pre-show. It was well worth the air conditioning and the priority seating! The drinks/snacks were a bonus. The show was amazing. We are huge musical theater fans in our house, but even my niece who is not loved it. I don't think she was expecting to enjoy it, but talked about it most of the evening!

So I have a weird question - I'm going solo on the next trip. Is it awkward to be a single adult in a pre-show lunch crowd?
I wouldn't think so. I would not have had any idea if someone was a single adult at the pre-show event. Dh and I stood in separate lines for our drinks (he wanted beer, me wine) so we both probably appeared single anyways! HA! Go for it!

The kids lunch looks more my style. Wonder if they'd do an adult portion!
I don't like frozen though. ;)
Hi everyone,

I did the Frozen pre-show and lunch on Saturday so I can answer some of the questions.

As for seating, they let us in the doors on the opposite side of the theater from the general admission and told us we could sit wherever we wanted.

The meal at Carthay Circle was delicious! I had the filet. It was great!! The sustainable fish was Sea Bass. I was really hoping for salmon so I got the steak instead. Here are the menus:

However, they charged us $79 for my two year old nephew and I complained but our waitress told me that he needed to have his own seat in the theater and she could take the charge off the bill or take away his pass into the pre-show at Stage 17. I went ahead and paid the $79 for him, but at Stage 17 I didn't offer them his pass. I was going to wait to see if they asked for his. They didn't ask for his pass, but they gave him a lanyard so I went back to Carthay after and was able to get a refund for his ticket.

If anyone has other questions, let me know. :)

Interesting! When were you there?

July 3rd for the 11:30 showing. The fast pass tickets said to be back before 11:10 am. We arrived at 10:52 am and were up the stairs and seated by 11:10 am. We had the Mezzanine section and got seats in the far section about five rows from the front.

We did the Pre-Show last Friday and I'm so glad. I was a little skeptical at first, just because we had already booked a PTN package, WOC dinner, and WOC dessert party, and I didn't want to spend more money. It was definitely worth it for us though! Plus there's just the two of us so that helps.

We did the 2:30 pre show for the 4pm show. We got in line to check in maybe around 2:45, because I was determined to get pictures with Nick and Judy (their meet & greet started right there at 2:30). We showed up around 2:15 and people were lined up to check in already. We spent around 15 minutes in line, mostly because they kept having people get up to the table to check in, but the rest of their party was in the shade, and then they'd have to go get them for wristbands...

We got drinks and popcorn, and DF ended up having 4 snow cones  We were in there around 40 minutes which was just the right time to sit, take pictures, eat and drink... I was surprised there weren't more seats, but it worked out because our group didn't seem terribly large and a lot of people didn't bother to sit. Every time we got up for pictures (me) and snow cones (DF) we were able to go right back to the same spot.

Overall it was worth it for us. The pictures/snacks/drinks/lanyards/pins/air conditioning/choosing seats early made me feel better about $50 per person. Adding the extra $50 for lunch might not even be a bad deal - I'm just a picky eater and I worried that I wouldn't like the food.

Thank you all for all of your reviews. I want to book this for our trip in September but it currently is only available to be booked up until the 5th. I hope they will continue it after then. I am really enjoying the reviews here though!
