Frontier and Midwest merger problems- a vent and a question

so we booked our flight with Midwest and Frontier bought them out. For a long time we could look at midwest website and see our itinerary. now the websites are merged as well.

I was checking Frontier airlines to doublecheck our itinerary and they won't let you check online if you booked with midwest. Ok, fine, I call them. The lady was very nice and noticed that our information was not in the system such as birthdates and names as they appear on identification to show at the airport. She told us that we could have been denied boarding because of that!!!!:headache::mad:

So, she added all the info. Not easy to do as we are taking my parents and I don't remember what they had on their drivers licenses, so as I am on with frontier I am calling on my cell to mom and dad and hubby to find out exactly how their drivers licenses are written. Hopefully all is well now.

VENT: How could that vital information NOT be transfered? Would they really have denied us boarding? How many other poor families are going to be goofed up by this? Luckily we caught it, but now I will be worried till we board that everything is "correct"

Question: What else might I need to check with Frontier on to make sure everything is correct? I plan on calling back to double check AGAIN, but not sure what else to check to make sure it is all ok.

What should I bring to verify the flight, our original Midwest receipt, anything else? I just feel very uneasy that somthing might go wrong to make us miss the flight.

We have the same situation....bought with Midwest, now stuck with Frontier. I also have not been able to check my reservation online. I'm really glad you posted this, because I will be calling them promptly tomorrow morning to make sure everything is OK. Unfortunately I've got meetings the remainder of tonight so have to wait until tomorrow to check this out. I don't want to get to the airport next Tuesday morning and be denied boarding. As it is we are flying out of an airport 2 1/4 hours from our home because the prices were much cheaper than flying from our local airport. Thanks for the heads up and I'll post again tomorrow after I give them a call.

Flying used to be fun.......now I think the airlines are the *******(backside) of the travel industry. ::MinnieMo

Called Frontier this morning. Couldn't get a live person....only their phone tree. Everything with my reservations seems OK. It said there are 4 people on the reservation and stated my husband's name. Hopefully it would have sent me to a live person if there weren't names there for the rest of us. I'm taking along my original confirmation from Midwest when we leave. ::MinnieMo

I would just keep pressing "0" to get a person. Eventually the phone tree goes away and I get a person. I think it only takes 2 tries to get to a person. I'm glad it looks good for you!

Thanks for the tip on getting a person. I may still try it to get another confirmation. Out of curiosity, which confirmation code did you use when you called, the one issued originally by Midwest, or the one issued by Frontier after the buy-out? I can't get either to work online, but used the one from Frontier on the phone this morning. ::MinnieMo

I used the frontier one. I hope you are able to check it in advance, and have a great time!

I just got back from a trip with this situation. I didn't have any problems with the boarding pass. I couldn't check in online for either segment of the journey. But we did just walk up to the counter and tell them out names, show our ID and we got our boarding passes. There wasn't any confusion because of the merger or because I booked with Midwest and it was now Frontier etc. I was very worried about it and had brought along all of the paperwork - from the original ticketing and all the in-between e-mails from both airlines. Didn't need them.

The only problem I had was a connecting flight that had maintenance issues that was cancelled so had to find alternative transportation home. Not too happy about that.

We used to love to fly Midwest. Not so sure we'll stick with Frontier though. Now that Southwest is in the drivable area we may try them out.
