Frontier Airlines?

Im trying to get our family of 5 to the World this year.
Being on the west coast the airfare prices are outrageous.
I was expecting to have to settle for Southwest who usually has the best prices but I was SHOCKED to find airfare in August to be close to $550 EACH person!
I found Frontier airlines had tickets in the same time frame for $385 each. There is a $20 per checked baggage fee with the cheapest seats. You get one free bag with a seat upgrade but I can get around that by having each of us bring a carry on. (Southwest has at least one free bag). BUT the biggest difference is that Frontier has seat back video monitors for $6. (not sure if I'd have to pay on each leg of the flight.) But either way it brings the airfare to ALMOST bearable.

Has anyone traveled on Frontier and what has been your experience...

I haven't looked up Air Tran yet but know they dont always get the best reviews.

Yes we usually fly Frontier since we have their card and use miles except for this trip. We have never had a problem with them. They are about the same as other airlines on charging for bags, the seats not having much room etc. It is not worth it to pay extra for stretch seating since it is only a few inches and you pay that fee for each leg of the trip. You also pay extra for each leg on the $6 for TV. We hardly ever use it unless it is a long flight and if we do then we share one. Most people bring their laptops or other devices and watch their own movies. All in all we really like Frontier and have never had any complaints or lost bags or anything ever happen. Knock on wood I guess.

Just looked up Air Tran and it says there are no flights between LA and Orlando in August... is that because they aren't letting you book flights that far out or have they stopped service???
