Front Row Please!

I always (politely and with a big Disney smile!) ask CM's if I can wait longer for the seats I want... Honestly, it's starting to exhaust me though. I don't even know if that could make any sense to someone else but that's how I feel... like tired from having to ask so much? It's one of the reasons I've chosen not to go back to WDW for a full year. I was hoping to get over that feeling. I don't think it's gone away though so I was thinking maybe on this trip I'd just sit where they put me.... but then will I be cranky I'm not having the experience I hoped for? Ahh, such difficult decisions!!! :D

The only time I really request is when I'm with people who haven't been on Soarin before, I prefer to give them the best view, so I always request row B1.

Other than that, I've been on the attractions so many times that I don't care too much. I prefer back row on BTMRR because the front lags too much and is slower, but if theres a line I'll sit anywhere.

I like the slow part of any ride. I am a big chicken.

I always ask for front row on Soarin'. Most of the others I take what I get. I have never had a Cast Member act like it was a big deal they are more than happy to help!

Interesting info about the GMR. We got the Gangster one, so I am anxious to try the other version too! Thanks for the tip!!!

Yes you get two different scenerios, same ride but something different happends to you.
But if I told you what happends then it would completely ruin the ride for you. Have you ever rode it before?

You don't need to explain "what happens" to explain the set-up.

It works this way.

All of the cars go via the SAME route, its just that some cars will STOP at a different place to view their respective "live-actor & animatronic scenes".

FIRST group of cars passes right on by the "1930's Gangster Set" and continues on to the "Cowboy Set".

SECOND group of cars STOPS at the "1930's Gangster Set"... and the doors to the "tunnel" close (to completely isolate the two rooms for the different scenes).

The two "live-actor & animatronic scenes" take place at the same time.

The effects in the Gangster room are machine-gun fire and the black "limo" driving in from an adjacent tunnel.

The effects in the Cowboy room include six-gun shooting and fire (BIG fire scene) when the bank "explodes".

IMHO, the Cowboy scene (with the fire) is a far superior effect. So, if you have not seen it, ask to sit in the first set of "cars".
(It should be easy if you tell the loading CM that you will be happy to wait for the "next departure", if need be.)

NOTE: If you ARE riding on the second set of cars (Gangster scene) pay attention as your cars pass by the (now quiet) Cowboy scene... you can feel the HEAT still radiating off of the (recently "blazing") bank (you can see the "scorch-marks" above the windows, too).

BTW, its also possible that when the ride is not busy (early in the morning, for instance) that they only do ONE scene.

Since the Cowboy scene costs more to perform (with all that "propane" expense for the fire effects), I'm assuming they only do the Gangster scene (and not BOTH) until the queue starts filling.

Could be why more folks have seen that one (I certainly have seen it more often than the FIRE.)

The only ride we wait for the front row is EE. It's totally worth it! :goodvibes

For Space Mtn. I prefer the back, but don't ask for it.

I never thought about asking for the front in Soarin'. I will next time. :)

More important than front row, we've been asking for the bandit scenario on the Great Movie Ride (instead of the gangster scenario). That usually gets us front row seating.

Who do you ask? I know there is more than one scenario, but all the times I've been on TGMR it's been the gangsters. Never have seen anything else!

I will happily wait for the first row in EE....I just love it when it gets to the 'end of the track' in the first car!!! Soarin' I like to be in the top row, but have yet to ask for it. Space Mt...I will do anything to avoid being in that first car. RnRC...have to be as far back as possible. ToT...middle row, next to the wall so I can hold on and hide my face!! BTMRR? Last seat thankyou very much. I have repeatedly asked for this one...I hate BTMRR up front..why bother. Splash Mt...middle row, I find it doesn't get quite as wet.
But, the only one I really take the tiime to wait for is EE, and even then I only do it once or twice a trip. Otherwise, I just wait and take what I get.

I did on our last trip! Most rides I don't really care about the front seat, but on my favorites, like Pirates, I always ask : ) I just don't see the point in waiting in line for your favorite ride, just to be put in the back. I wouldn't do it constantly, though. Just when it really mattered to me.

I never ask for specific seats, but I have never had a bad experience, no matter where I sat. Maybe some day, if I do, I will ask for specific seats.

I thought I read here that to get the bandit scenario you should go to the right when the line starts to divide up.:confused3

We went to the left last time and got the ganster scenario.

That's correct. The group of cars to the right will be the first to go and will get the Western scenario. The group to the left will get the Gangster scenario.

On our last trip, I forgot to ask for a front row seat on Soarin'. The people's feet did interfere with my enjoyment, so from now on, I'll ask.

We'll ask for the front on EE (excellent experience!), the monorail, and Soarin'. We ask for the back on BTMRR. CMs have told us the back is better than the front on EE, but we're still too chicken to try it.
We've never had a crabby CM. We ask with a smile and a "please," and all have been very accommodating. And we don't make these requests every time we ride. :goodvibes

We always ask for the front for:
Soaring
Test Track
Safari
Dinosaur
Splash Mountain
RNRC
Space Mountain
POTC

We ask the CM that assigns you a number to stand on.

Haven't tried EE yet.:scared1:

Rode Dinosaur for the first time last week. DW never rode it neither and she mistakenly told me it's like Indiana Jones ride in DL. So, I went in thinking it's a calm ride with some jostling.

Sat in front seat, on the right side.

OMG - almost pee'ed my pants.

DH had a knee replacement and has to keep his leg straight most of the time. We always have to wait for a certain vehicle, of a different row for him and another for me and friends, or to be on the far left of a row so he can keep his leg straight so for us, it's normal.

We are very friendly about it and sometimes CM apologize for not getting us on sooner...We always say "It's no big deal, we are here for a few weeks, we can wait, and usually just wait till it's 2 or 3 vehicles have past us...

The only ride I HAVE to be front row is BTMRR...I can't take the back, too much movement.

Also, THE Great Movie Ride...if we have already seen one side on the trip, we will ask to see the other side for our second day at MGM.

:) I do not realy care although I am looking to get a front row seat on soarin for our next trip.

I always prefer to be in the front row on Snow White, Peter Pan, HM, SSE, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz, Dumbo, the Teacups and Cinderella's Carosel. It really confuses the CM's.

I had to stop and think about it for a second. :rotfl: Thanks for the much needed laughs - I wanted to go to MNSSHP tonight. This makes up for it.
